Congratulations to our Spring Has Sprung photo contest winners!! 🎉 sweethearts Murphy and Indie were selected through random draw for our gift basket. The gift basket contains some goodies for both girls 😋 their owners will also receive some items found through local shops in our lovely Historic Downtown Cochrane. We hope you all enjoy the items!

We are so excited for Footstock this year and are all crossing our fingers for good weather! ☀️

We will have a tent set up by Spray Lakes and will be offering snacks/refreshments for the humans and some Max & Molly beef liver treats for your animals😋

Please feel free to pop by our tent to say hi, enjoy some music, and pick up some tasty refreshments! Some staff members may be running as well so we will cheer them on along with all the other amazing runners🎉

What is Leptospirosis?
Leptospirosis (Lepto) is an infectious zoonotic disease that can affect dogs, other animals, and humans. It is caused by spiral-shaped bacteria called leptospires.

How is Lepto Transmitted?
Commonly transmitted through the urine of infected animals, usually in waters or damp ground. Dogs can contract it by swimming in or drinking contaminated water or by playing in areas where infected urine is present.

Some dogs will show no obvious symptoms but early signs may include:
* Fever
* Muscle Weakness
* Decreased Appetite
* Decreased Energy
* Vomiting and/or Diarrhea
Other clinical signs may include:
* Blood in Urine
* Difficulty Breathing
* Jaundice (yellow eyes/skin)

Dogs at Higher Risk
Rural: Working, hunting, and herding dogs Suburban: Dogs living near water or wildlife
City: Dogs living in areas with a higher rodent population

Prevention is Key
The best way to protect your dog is with an annual vaccination so they can still enjoy their regular day to day activities in their environment.
