Ethel is quite the girl. I was out and Kyla was with the dogs today. Ethel and Bullet were let out of the kennel. After a bit of time Ethel stood inside the crate and started barking. She would not quit. Just demanding. This is a ongoing issue.
When I got home Kyla explained what happened. And that she wasn't sure why Ethel was barking.
The answer was simple. Ethel wanted the door closed and blanket put over the front.

We had a new addition to the pack. It has been a bit since we saw this family. Maria is their 3rd dog i have gotten to know over many years.
It took Bullet a bit ho be ok. Still I management mode with a new dog around.
Maria was unsure when I brought her in so I gave her rume to chill and absorb her surroundings before meeting the Friday crew. To start I could not look at her. She would growl and warn. When she got to meet the other dogs she didn't want them close. That was fair. Then she settled more. And she hung out with them. When we went out for a potty break she wouldn't ho the first time. The second time she went on the sidewalk. By the the of her visit she went on the gravel. She had settled in.
It is great to reestablish past relationships with people. And their new family member.

Last week we said goodbye to these two beautiful girls. They and there family moved. Sometimes it is hard to keep things normal for the dogs when they sense nothing is normal.
This family started with me over 10 years ago with their past dog.
I am lucky to have gotten to know these two girls. They taught me about calm and quiet. Even though when they went home Zoey started barking the second she got out of the car until she was inside. At my place she didn't bark at all. Kiki went from hiding at the door to following me around. It took quite a while to let her choose. Yet she did. I will miss their people. Lots of laughs. Take care Sheltie family. We will miss you.
