Training a personal protection dog is a huge responsibility.
Here’s an example of how I teach clients to have absolute control over their dogs on the way to do bite work.
This is a 12 month old pup so he’s just learning the ropes.

Training your dog to do something new takes reps upon reps. It doesn’t take hours upon hours.
Here’s a quick clip of my less than five minute session Jack to “spin”.
I just started this command three days ago classically (moving him with the reward as I give the command) and now he is onto operant nicely (reward after completing the command).
I’ll keep this up daily for a couple of weeks and then begins blending it into his heeling work.
Teaching your dog a new skill is typically a daily event for 5-10 minutes for 2-3 weeks.
