The 5th Annual Cut Above Superior Horse Sale has officially come and gone for another year, and what an incredible year it was. We had an outstanding sale, and I think it’s safe to say this was our best one yet. The horse industry is in such an exciting place right now, and it has been so rewarding to be a part of it.

This past weekend would not have been possible without the amazing people who showed up to help and support in so many ways. From preparing for the sale beforehand to helping throughout the weekend, I truly have the best team of people behind me.

To all of our consignors — thank you. Thank you for bringing one of the nicest sets of horses we’ve ever had at the sale. We know how much time, dedication, and hard work goes into producing these horses, and we are so grateful that you trusted us to help market them. To our buyers, thank you for supporting our sale and appreciating these horses as much as we do.

I especially want to thank my friends and family who stepped in however they could to help make this weekend happen. Thank you to Olivia Bircham and Erin Sawley for helping put the catalog together. Thank you to everyone who helped with the ropings, to Darren Shaw for supplying the cattle, Tambi for once again doing an incredible job in the office, and Mike Cahoon for being a fantastic announcer. Thank you as well to all of our roping sponsors — your support means so much to us.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped on sale day. Special thanks to Southern Alberta Livestock Exchange for not only helping prepare for this event, but for showing up with an outstanding sales team. Our ringmen and sale staff are second to none. Thank you to our outstanding auctioneer Frank Jenkins, and to DJ Woodward for the countless hours he put in on pedigrees to help make sale day such a success.

There are so many people to thank, and if I missed mentioning anyone, please know how truly grateful I am for each and every one of you!

Plans for the 2027 Horse Sale are already underway, and we have some exciting things in the works. We can’t wait to bring you the 6th Annual Cut Above Superior Horse Sale!
