While the year is coming to an end and Groomers are booking old and new clients in for the coming year.. I want to take a moment to talk about safety and honesty π If you are someone whos looking to book their pet in for grooming with a new groomer, PLEASE be honest about your pets needs. If your dog struggles with grooming PLEASE be open and honest PRIOR to booking, whether its a little anxiety for a blow dry, or slight aggression for a nail trim, if your dog growls at the nail clippers, or the brush, any issue whether its big or small.. PLEASE be open and honest with your groomer. If you withhold, or downplay the severity of information about your pets past grooming history you are putting an innocent worker in a situation where they could be severely injured or unable to work for a period of time or an INDEFINITE period of time. If your someone whos dog has previously been rejected from a groomer in the past, you may think being honest about a difficult dog to the next groomer means the groomer will not accept you as a client, but thats not the case. you need to understand some groomers have past/previous history of an injury and if they have proper information about your pets needs prior to grooming they can then have the ability to keep themselves and your pet safe. Reactive dogs are FAST, sometimes silent in their signs and it is VERY DANGEROUS, not to mention it can affect the groomers mental health moving forward with other animals in the future. While this is not an issue I have had personally happen to me in recent times, it HAS been an issue before to myself and other groomers I know personally here. So please, put the safety of your groomer and your pet first, if your dog has been reactive in the past or shown signs previously please let your groomer know so that way the groomer can strategically put in place a plan and use special methods that can keep everyone including your pet safe! π
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE AND SEE YOU ALL IN THE NEW YEAR ! π
