Most pet owners want to do whatโs best for their animals, but the pet industry has set the bar way too low. The good news? We can do better, and it doesnโt have to be all-or-nothing.
Pawfection wants to meet pet owners where they are and share practical, realistic ways to improve our petsโ health. You donโt need to change everything overnight. Small, simple upgrades make a difference.

Did you know most kibble contains less than 10% moisture?
That ultra-low moisture content is great for shelf stability and distribution costs, but terrible for your pets' hydration! Even if they drink plenty of water, kibble-fed animals often struggle with chronic mild dehydration, which can contribute to kidney disease, urinary issues, and poor digestion. ๐ฟ
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐? Hydrating kibble is simple and affordable.
Just add water! If you have access to filtration, great! If not, safe town or well water works just fine. When water is added, kibble will expand. This does not change your pets' feeding requirements. 1 cup moistened may look like more than the 1 cup dry they're used to getting, but remember the kibble would have expanded to that size in their tummies.

Once kibble is hydrated, Hydrate kibble + time = bacterial growth. Serve fresh or store properly.
P.S. A common misconception is that kibbleโs hard, crunchy texture helps clean teeth. In reality, the evidence suggests otherwise. Over 80% of dogs and 70% of cats show signs of dental disease by age three, and yet 79% of dogs and 90% of cats are still fed conventional dry kibble.
Still here? Here's so more info for our pet-nerds.

Every biological function, from digestion, temperature regulation, to organ health, depends on proper hydration.
Dry kibble is left to expand in the stomach, pulling moisture from your petโs body, which can lead to bloating and discomfort.
Chronic dehydration, even mild, can strain the kidneys, contribute to urinary tract disease, and reduce nutrient absorption.
Even small changes can make a difference. Let's aid our pets hydration through their food, not only their water bowl.
