Here’s a grooming truth: dirty hair is harder to brush and more damaging to your dog’s coat.

Brushing tangled, dirty hair can cause breakage, discomfort, and even skin irritation. Dirt, oils, and debris create friction and make knots tighter.

That’s why we always recommend brushing after a bath, when the coat is clean and conditioned. It’s easier on your dog, and much gentler on their coat.

Bonus tip: Regular brushing between grooms is great — but make sure your dog is clean when you do it for best results!

Did you know dogs have their own hair growth cycle—just like us?
But not all dogs are the same!

Dogs go through four phases:
1. Anagen (growth)
2. Catagen (transition)
3. Telogen (resting)
4. Exogen (shedding)

The length of these phases depends on breed and coat type.
Short-haired and double-coated dogs often have a short growth cycle—so they shed more often!
That’s why regular brushing and deshedding treatments are a game-changer.

Yes, I’ve shared this exact photo before — but it’s worth repeating. This message is so important.

When I say I wasn’t able to finish a groom or complete something during your dog’s appointment, it’s never because I didn’t try — it’s because I’m putting your dog’s comfort and emotional wellbeing first.

Forcing a scared or stressed dog through a full appointment just to “get it done” can do more harm than good. Sometimes, the kindest and most professional thing to do is stop, reassess, and try again another day.

Regular grooming helps:
