Please note I am not an english rider, I am capable of teaching a horse to go over a jump but I cannot take them to a competitive level. In Alberta ... Who doesnt call themselves a " Horse Trainer "

I cant stand calling myself a trainer ... I work with horses...

I have no strict methods ... every single horse is different regardless of what anyone has tried to prove. Every horse must individually be able to blossom into their own horse ...

I do not have diplomas, I do not have certificates ... I have a history ...

The horses that chose me to show them our world are usually the ones that are found most unlikely to move forward onto a positive life. I bond, work and flourish with horses that lack the comprehension and softness of the human touch

You want a horse to do what it is told? Im not your girl

If you want a horse that understands you and what you both want to do ...
If you want a horse that does not relate fear with a " I have to " ...
If you want a horse that is soft, calm ... thoughtful ...
Continue to browse and see what I have accomplished ...
Knowledge is key ... I learn from the horse... I am open minded to other trainers and fellow friends ... but the horse is the one to teach us. I have limited availability ...
The horses and people im helping dont seem to want to let me go ...
Theres always something more that can be done !

Making a safe kiddo creates a safe horse!

Both accommodations offer feed included or bring your own as I know some like to stay on the same feed program. Must be small squares if this is the case.
Rideable horses must have recent floating as well as recent trims. I’m not fighting with a sore mouth or incorrect angles while asking a horse to get fit.

Both locations are owned by property owners. Visits are encouraged I just need to be there to respect the property and privacy that is there’s.

I’ve trained countless horses but taking a step back to do what I actually enjoy doing, working with the young ones and helping fitness journeys.

⭐️ONE OF THE VERY BEST THINGS I OFFER⭐️
A piece of mind
You will get daily updates, pictures, videos and even a small journal that i will keep of your equine friend’s progress
This to me is HUGE … ive used 3 VERY reputable trainers in the past and i had to chase them for a simple text that my horse was even alive NEVER
AGAIN … id go weeks without an update - CONTACT ME AS MUCH AS YOUD LIKE - but i can guarantee ill contact you first

A bit about me:
I’ve been riding since I can remember and I’ve never had the privilege of getting/riding one of the good ones - learn fast or … all the other alternatives
I’ve contracted/managed at 2 trail riding facilities.
I’ve dabbled in endurance riding, cutting, mounted shooting and I’m an active competitor in barrel racing, team penning and sorting.
I’ve worked with a local rescue Dare to Dream for many years with all types of horses and training requirements
My love for the horse shines most in the teaching aspects not the fine tuning. Watching a horse’s fear turn into curiosity to confidence is one of the most rewarding experiences.

I have a book load of references.

When Dare to Dream Horse Rescue asks me to work w their horses I’ve always been there 🥰
Today was Tanseys first time being handled/haltered. She has had her chin touched while being handled fed some barley

This is by far the most intelligent and soft filly I’ve worked with out of the dozens I’ve helped halter train.
So very smart and sensible !!!

Shenanigans

Beth is coming 4
We’re starting slow 🥰

04/02/2025

This was her 5th time ever on a trailer today, never been in a slant load w the dividers closed
She was sweated up a bit from the trailer ride ( 50 mins )
She’s coming 5, a bit of a confrontational gal when it comes to moving forward on pressure w a halter … we’re working on it. After I unloaded her I walked her around her new home and then decided to try to get her back on the trailer and reward her w a little snack and some pets.
It took 14 minutes but she went on and calmly came off

My logic in this …
I’ll be loading and unloading her alone a lot and I want to promote the idea of the trailer not being a stressful place and not every time that she goes on will she be alone, traveling or have to argue with me.

At almost 10 months old Rip, Neekas son is turning into quite the young stud.
For the minimal hands I’ve had on him and time spent he is proving already to be 1 in a million
Our second time free lunging.
Boy is he smart.
I better be extra careful with this one.

Things your riding instructor wants you to know:

1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.

2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…

3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..

4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.

5. EVERY RIDE IS AN OPPORTUNITY. Even the walk ones. Even the hard ones. Every. Single. Ride. Remember when you just wished someone would lead you around on a horse? Find the happiness in just being able to RIDE. If you make every ride about what your AREN'T doing, you take the fun out of the experience for yourself, your horse, and your instructor. Just enjoy the process. Which brings me to...

6. Riding should be fun. It is work. and work isn't always fun.....but if you (or your rider) are consistently choosing other activities or find yourself not looking forward to lessons, it's time to take a break. The horses already know you don't want to be here, and you set yourself up for failure if you are already dreading the lesson before you get here.

7. You'll learn more about horses from the ground than you ever will while riding. That's why ground lessons are important, too. If you're skipping ground lessons (or the part of your lesson that takes place on the ground), you're missing out on the most important parts of the lesson. You spend far more time on the ground with horses than you do in the saddle.

8. Ask questions and communicate. If you're wondering why your coach is having you ride a particular horse or do an exercise, ask them. Then listen to their answer and refer to #3 above.

9. We are human beings. We make decisions (some of them life and death ones) every day. We balance learning for students with workloads for horses and carry the bulk of this business on our shoulders. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Of all the sports your child will try through their school years, riding is one of 3 that they may continue regularly as adults (golf and skiing are the others). People who coach riding spend the better part of their free time and much of their disposable income trying to improve their own riding and caring for the horses who help teach your child. They love this sport and teaching others…..but they all have their limits. Not all good riders are good coaches, but all good coaches will tell you that the process to get good is not an easy one.

*thank you to whoever wrote this! Not my words, but certainly a shared sentiment!
