This week, we are focusing on structured desensitization work around other dogs and helping our rehoming boy build confidence through controlled, positive social interactions.

To support this process, the dogs selected to work with him are carefully chosen based on their neutral temperament, calm energy, and ability to respect personal space while placing minimal social pressure on him.

One of the helper dogs involved in this work is Boomerang, who has been working alongside me in canine rehabilitation for over 8 years. His stability, experience, and ability to appropriately ignore or disengage make him an invaluable part of the rehabilitation process.

We are still searching for the perfect forever family for this 4-year-old male, a home that will continue to support his progress and appreciate the amazing dog he is becoming.

Update on our 4-year-old male in our rehoming program

He now accepts weekly grooming with no issues and has made amazing progress in just a few weeks.

He’s an affectionate, obedient boy, very human-oriented and eager to please. He has a medium drive with an excellent off switch.

He also absolutely loves retrieving games and anything involving water.

We are looking for an adult-only home, ideally with a calm dog that respects boundaries. With a patient behavioral groomer, we believe he will continue to thrive and progress beautifully.

What an unforgettable weekend at the Tantramar Kennel Club Dog Show!

Henry finished his Canadian Championship in only a handful of entries! and he proudly earned two Select Dog awards. We could not be more proud of this outstanding young male who continues to shine both in the ring and in field work.

Our sweet little Ariel also had an amazing weekend, earning 2 more points with a beautiful Best of Opposite S*x, Best of Winners, and several Best Puppy wins throughout the weekend.

Red with Mackensie added 4 more points toward his Grand Championship with two Select Dog wins, We are beyond proud of this team and all the hard work paying off.

So grateful for every moment, every memory, and everyone cheering our dogs on along the way.

Looking for the right forever home

We are searching for a very special home for a 4-year-old male Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

This affectionate, medium-sized boy is eager to please, loves to play, and forms strong bonds with his people. He has a balanced energy level happy to be active, yet able to settle nicely at home. He is well-behaved indoors, non-destructive, and has excellent focus, obedient and a strong desire to please, natural instincts for field or hunting work

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
He has serious reactivity to medical handling and grooming, which requires thoughtful and experienced management.

He is not reactive with other dogs when his personal space is respected, but can react if he feels cornered or pressured.

We are looking for an experienced, calm, and CONFIDENT owner who understands canine body language and is willing to work at his pace. Although he has grown up with children and other dog, we will ONLY consider an adult-only home.

He will also need the support of a behavioral groomer and a patient, understanding veterinary approach to help him feel safe during care routines.

He is currently with us in a training program, with daily positive exposure to muzzle work and grooming handling, and he is making great progress.

This dog is not for everyone , but in the right home, with the right guidance, he is a deeply loyal, loving, and rewarding companion.

Please reach out if you feel you could offer him the safe and understanding home he deserves.
