Not a wildlife post but in support of another animal group. The Yorkton SPCA was broken into, much damage was caused and a dog was stolen.
Please be on the lookout for Koda!

It's difficult to focus this morning, and Facebook only lets us pick one emotion which, by no means sums up all we are feeling. So we will add a couple more. Disgusted, broken, sad are currently closest to the surface.
This morning we were broke into and the stress they caused to our animals weighs heavy. The missing dog ..... We can't even describe that right now. Terrified for him for sure. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY they care for him. But ultimately we want him back. They tried for a 2nd one but they were not successful.
This comes at a time when money is tight....for everyone and we are no exception having recently needed new shingles, a big, expensive job and now let's add to that cost, fixing the fencing so the dogs have a place to run, get new locks, more security.
The mind boggles at all we do to keep these animals safe, only to find out it's not enough. 💔
Emotions overcome right now so I may have to stop, but we ask the public to keep an eye out for our KODA. He is neutered and MICROCHIPPED and if you see him please know that he was stolen not adopted. Note who he is with, where they go with him any detail can be important. Call the police with info.
We also ask that you direct any questions to the shelter. Social media posts are handled by an outside source.

Here's our great horned owl beginning rehab. She is quiet most of the time but sure gets strong and fiesty when we need to handle her for food and medications. Thank you Wendy from P.A. for getting her to us!

New patient from Silverwood rehab! Short eared owl. Was caught in barbed wire. Such cute little plumicorns on top of her head. Eye and wing injury. Eating with a great appetite. Healing in progress.

DO NOT HANDLE the sick birds!!! Report immediately the bird to The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment.
