Did you know that, February is National Pet Dental Health Month, a time to focus on preventing dental disease, which affects most pets by age of 3, leading to pain, bad breath, and serious issues affecting the heart, kidneys, and liver.
How you as a pet owner can help by including daily brushing with pet toothpaste, dental diets, chew toys, water additives, and regular veterinary dental checkups, including professional cleanings at the vets that gets under the gum line, to keep your pet's smile healthy and prevent systemic problems.
So why it matters,
Prevalence: Up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by age of 3.
Pain: Dental issues make eating and playing painful.
Systemic Risk: Bacteria from the mouth can spread, causing damage to the heart, liver, kidneys, and even leading to respiratory issues.
Signs of dental problems
