I talk to your spirit often, quietly, when the world goes still. I tell you how sorry I am, how deeply I regret having to let go—how I wish there had been another way, another chance, more time. I wasn't ready, and I don’t think I ever would have been. Letting you go felt like letting go of a part of my soul. I miss everything—your warmth, your eyes, the comfort of knowing you were always there. If I could, I’d turn back time and hold you a little tighter, walk a little slower, and never take a single moment for granted. I just want our time together back, even for a day, just to tell you how much I love you again.

Dogs die. But before they do, they live.

They live brave, beautiful lives. They protect their families with unwavering loyalty. They love us with a fierceness that knows no bounds. They fill our days with joy, our homes with warmth, and our hearts with light.

Dogs don’t waste time worrying about tomorrow. They live fully in the moment—chasing balls, napping in sunbeams, and wagging their tails at the simple sound of our voices. They teach us how to love without conditions and how to find happiness in the little things.

So yes, dogs die. But before they do, they give us everything they have. And that’s why their love stays with us long after they’re gone.

Here’s to the dogs who live bravely, love deeply, and leave paw prints on our hearts forever. 🐾💖

Dog Poisoned by the Diffuser.
On Saturday night, the owner arrived home late, and the dog didn’t recognize him. Given her background as a nanny, she assumed the pup might have been startled awake or even experiencing a night terror. However, on Sunday, the dog was still acting off. That’s when she remembered her new diffuser had been running and decided to turn it off. By Sunday afternoon, things seemed a bit better.

The next day, the dog sitter mentioned that the dog wouldn’t come out from under the bed—a real surprise for a usually cheerful pet. The owner hurried home early and found her dog looking confused and scared once again. Alarmed, she took him to the emergency vet.

It turned out that the tea tree oil used in the diffuser is toxic to dogs. Fortunately, tests showed that his liver was okay, but the situation was still serious. The vet administered fluids under his skin to help eliminate the toxins.

According to both the vet and poison control, these cases are becoming more common as essential oils grow in popularity. They urge everyone to double-check that the oils they’re using aren’t hazardous to their pets. ThePaws.net - All Things Dog

We'll be at Global Calgary today with beautiful Abigail who did really well on her Christmas foster with a local family. She is approx. 4.5 mos old, already doing well with crate training and leashwork. She really does well with other dogs, and we'd love to find her a home with an older dog she can follow and mentor. We'll see how she does being in a totally different environment today!

🚨 We URGENTLY need your help! 🙏

A litter of six innocent puppies has been struck by parvovirus – a devastating and deadly disease. 💔 Right now, four tiny lives are hanging by a thread. One is being closely monitored for any sign of symptoms. And heartbreakingly, one has already crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈

Polo, Carver, Boing and Buster are all receiving intensive treatment as we write this. Buster’s condition is especially critical with a central line to maintain his blood pressure. Our hearts are breaking to share that little Terry could not fight any more, and we made the painful decision to let him go this afternoon. Run free at the rainbow bridge, little one. 🐶🪽

We expect the costs to try to save these sweet souls will reach well over $20,000. We are reaching out to ask for your help. 🙏 These babies didn’t ask for this battle, but we’re determined to fight it with everything we’ve got. Please, if you can, donate now at aarcs.ca/donate to give Polo, Carver, Boing, and Buster a fighting chance. If you’re unable to give, sharing this post can make a world of difference. 💚

These pups are counting on us, and we’re counting on you. Let’s come together to show them love and hope when they need it most. ⭐

Thank you, from the bottom of our broken hearts, for being part of their fight. ❤️‍🩹

We hate to break it to you, but bears don’t want to be your friend.

Giving space to wildlife is not just to keep you safe, it also prevents situations where animals end up receiving the consequences for bad decision-making by people.

Keep your distance and keep them alive.

It is illegal to feed, entice or disturb any wildlife in a national park. Violators will be charged, be required to appear in court, and could pay fines up to $25 000.

Trustworthy

For the past 16 years I have held the position of Canadian Rockies Public Schools school monitor, which means I am trusted to open and close schools in Canmore, make sure groups using the gym or rooms do so orderly, and I lock up the school and set the alarm after I leave. I have also worked for three years as an Animal Care Attendant at the Bow Valley SPCA, opening and closing the BVSPCA in the evenings to take care of dogs and cats. I administered their vet-prescribed pills and gave cats their insulin shots. And I have owned two German shepherds over the years. The last dog I owned I adopted from the BVSPCA when he was a puppy and he lived until he was 14 years old in 2020. I own my own condo in Canmore and I have lived in Canmore for 20 years, 11 of which I worked as a full time photographer for the Canmore Leader, which is now the Bow Valley Crag and Canyon, and I still write a freelance arts column for them once a week. Please feel free to contact me to ask me any questions. I also run my own photography business, www.pamdoylephoto.com and offer professional wedding, family portrait, convention photography and sports photography.
