Keeping an indoor cat entertained is an art that involves a combination of sensory stimulation and mental challenges!

Ways to Stimulate your Indoor Cat:

Interactive toys that move, make noise, or require problem-solving (like battery-operated mice or feather wands) mimic the movement of prey and can inspire your cat's natural hunting instincts.

Catnip is a great way to add some excitement to your cat's day. You can either purchase toys filled with catnip or sprinkle some dried catnip onto your cat's favorite play areas to re-invigorate their interest.

Puzzle feeders slow down fast eaters and also provide mental stimulation by challenging your cat to figure out how to access their food. It's a great way to make dinner time more intriguing!

A window perch offers your cat a glimpse into the outside world, providing free entertainment. Your cat can watch birds, squirrels, and other outdoor happenings, satisfying their curiosity and sharpening their observation skills. Consider putting a bird feeder outside said window.

Cats can quickly become bored with the same toys, if you rotate their toys every week or so it helps to keep things interesting.

Never underestimate the power of a simple cardboard box. Cut holes in a few boxes to create tunnels or build a mini-cat castle! Your cat will be delighted, and it is a great activity to build one with any kids in your life.

Scratch posts and pads are essential for indoor cats.

Chasing a laser pointer dot is both exhilarating and stimulating for cats. However, be sure to let your cat "catch" a tangible toy at the end of playtime for a sense of accomplishment, as chasing a light they cannot catch can be frustrating.

Spend quality time with your cat each day through gentle play or even a grooming session with a cat brush. This interaction strengthens your bond and ensures your cat feels loved and secure.

Cat towers and climbers allow your cat to stay active and explore their vertical space. Observing their domain from a higher vantage point is instinctually appealing to them and provides exercise.

Videos and music playlists for cats exist online or on YouTube. These audio and visual stimuli can capture your cat's attention and keep them occupied. Consider playing these occasionally to enhance their indoor experience, especially when you're not at home.

You might want to purchase a cat water fountain to entertain your curious kitties. The sound and movement of water flowing can intrigue many cats, encouraging hydration and providing an enriching element to their environment.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! 🎄❄️

We are closing at 3:00 p.m. today (December 24th) and will reopen this Friday December 27th at 8:00 a.m.

Here are some tips for the holidays:

Tip #1: The most common foods toxic to pets are; xylitol, caffeine, chocolate, grapes, raisins and zante currants, onions, garlics, leeks, chives, yeast dough, macadamia nuts, dairy, nutmeg, salt, edibles, and alcohol.

Tip #2: Rawhide bones, when chewed and swallowed, can gather in your pet's gut, potentially causing them harm. They are processed with irritating chemicals, and the pieces are a choking hazard that sit in the stomach for months and can form a complete blockage. We recommend “Kong” bones or “Nylabone's”.

Tip #3: Make sure you’ve scheduled some one-on-one time with your pet. They will appreciate you taking time just for them, in your busy schedule. Be careful how much time your pet is spending at home alone! If you cannot make it home, ask a friend or hire a dog sitter to give your pet some relief.
