In Loving Memory of Sargent
Our clinic family is heartbroken to share that Sargent, our beloved resident cat, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 31, 2026.
Sargent (aka Sargie, SargieBear, Sargent Shannondale, Raccoon) resided at the Shannondale Pet Hospital, and in that time he became far more than a clinic cat—he was our greeter, our supervisor, our comforter, and our daily dose of stubborn charm. Born missing a front leg, he never let that slow him down. Instead, he grew into a strong spirited, handsome, and hilariously assertive gentleman who ruled the clinic with equal parts confidence and affection.
Whether he was keeping an eye on us, greeting clients, or offering his famous one paw shoulder rubs, Sargent made sure everyone who walked through our doors felt noticed, chosen, and occasionally bossed around. Many of you knew him too, and we are grateful that so many shared in his story and his spirit. We are grateful to have known him and to have helped give him a great life.
He lived a long, full, extraordinary life—and he stole our hearts years ago, only to break them when he left. We will forever cherish his tenacity, his affection, and the unmistakable feline spark that made him who he was.
Rest well, Sargent. You made our clinic brighter than you’ll ever know
