Remembrance Day should be every day

The Calgary Police Service released this photo of a police dog in the Field of Crosses. The picture is for their 2015 calendar, but given that it's Remembrance Day, it was seen fit to share with Calgarians.

This handsome boy is named Nanook, who is similar to a fluffy polar bear! Nanook is a gentle giant who loves lots of human attention and endless cuddles. This guy loves the outdoors and may be the perfect doggo for an acreage or for a home with a large garden.

Nanook isn't the biggest fan of other dogs, cats are ok and older kids are great for this guy.

Meet Elvis, a fun and friendly eight-month-old puppy who is looking for a new home.

Elvis is a very sweet boy who loves cuddles. He has some manners to learn but a smart boy like Elvis will pick new tricks up so fast. Elvis recently lost his eye but don't worry though, Elvis doesn't let that stop him! He would be great in a home with other dogs or dog-savvy cats. Elvis hasn't met any children yet so make sure the children in the home know dog body language and give him some space when needed.

Made to love and be loved, Maddy is happiest being cuddled and petted by her fosters and by anyone who lavishes her with the affection she adores. Extremely gentle and ever so sweet, she’s blessed with the most tender of temperaments, loves resting her head on all open laps, accepting all treats, napping, and playing with other dogs, doing best with those her own size or smaller. Curious but respectful of the resident cats, she’s crate trained, at work on her housetraining, knows no commands, and hasn’t yet been walked on a leash. But being bright as a button, highly food motivated, and eager to please, this merry miss should prove easy to teach. Now, what Maddy needs most is a loving home, perhaps with another confident dog as both mentor and playmate, older dog-savvy children and patient adopters to educate her fully and keep her well cuddled and well exercised always.

Maddy is approximately 1 year old and weighs 55 lbs.
