CB Rescue

CB Rescue CB Rescue Foundation is a non-profit dog rescue based in Calgary, Canada. Saving Dogs Changing Lives! CB Rescue Foundation is located in Calgary, AB, CANADA.

Founded by Colin and Belinda Morrison, their passion for dogs is the driving force behind CB. Colin and Bella Morrison have a passion for all animals but a special place for dogs. They have been rescuing, fostering and volunteering with other rescues here in Calgary and internationally. They decided to start there own Non -Profit society to help abused and neglected dogs. It really happened by acc

ident; they came across a dog that was chained for 2 years - no walks, no interaction. They approached the owner and bought the dog. This Husky is now in the best home for her, gets walks every day, spa treatments and is spoiled rotten! Colin and Belinda knew they could help other dogs. They believe every dog should have their own loving family who will exercise, provide love and take them in as a part of their family. CB does not discriminate against breed or the location of the dog. CB Rescue will take its time in finding every dog their own perfect home. We look for DOG LOVERS not just DOG OWNERS. ****CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!***

The 8 week old Chihuahua mix puppies are growing so fast and are quickly learning how to have fun with toys. Auntie Belinda bought them some new crinkly stuffies!

Mom Velma is doing what a good mom does and is starting to nudge them away to do things on their own.

They love eating their Smack food with bone broth and it is so good for them!

They’ll be going to the vet for their first shots this week and they will also get thorough health checks and deworming.

Scooby (M) and Scrabby (F) are up for adoption but applications are now closed for Daphne and Fred.

Mom Velma is going to stay in her foster home for a few weeks yet. She will be getting spayed at the end of September so once she has recovered from that we will be looking for her forever home..

Today was a very special day for us at CB Rescue.

We held our very first annual CB Rescue Alumni Party, and after today, we know this is something we want to do every year.

Seeing so many of our CB Rescue families come out to support us meant more to Colin and me than I can possibly put into words. Some came from quite a distance, and we got to see dogs that we haven’t seen in years. Seeing them again, happy and loved with the families we chose for them, was absolutely incredible.

Especially during the difficult time we’re going through right now, today reminded us just how much love and support surrounds CB Rescue.

We received so many hugs. So many people told us they were praying for us, supporting us and that they have our backs. We heard from people who know firsthand what CB Rescue is really about because they’ve been through our process and are part of our family.
And what CB Rescue has always been about is the dogs.

It’s about finding the right family for each individual dog. It’s about making sure they receive proper exercise, training, nutrition and socialization. It’s about giving them everything we possibly can to set them up for a happy and successful life. Every decision we make comes back to what we believe is best for the dog.

Today, we got to see the result of that in front of our own eyes—dogs we once cared for, surrounded by the families who love them.

To everyone who took time out of their day to join us, thank you. To everyone who hugged us, encouraged us, prayed for us and reminded us that we are not standing alone, thank you.
We are incredibly grateful for our CB Rescue family and for the support you showed us today.

Our first Alumni Party is officially in the books, and this is only the beginning of a new CB Rescue tradition.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for an absolutely unforgettable day.

MARY IS ADOPTED!!!! Please share!
THIS IS MARY’S HAPPY ENDING! AND HER NEW BEGINNING!!

Mary was with CB Rescue for more than a year.

For a little dog under ten pounds, she certainly left a very big impression on everyone who got to know her.

We don’t know everything about Mary’s life before she came to CB Rescue, but there were things about her behaviour that made us wonder if she may have been hurt in the past. Sometimes she would look as though she wanted to be petted, but when a hand reached toward her, she wasn’t quite sure. She needed people who could read her, respect her space and let her decide when she was ready.

And once Mary trusts you, what an incredibly sweet little dog she is.

Over the past year, Mary spent time in both Belinda’s home and Lori’s home. Lori absolutely fell in love with her and said Mary was one of the sweetest little dogs she had ever fostered — and that says a lot considering Lori has fostered close to 200 dogs for CB Rescue over the years.

During all that time, Mary never went out on a trial.

There were families interested in her, but Belinda just never had that feeling that she had found Mary’s family. With a dog like Mary, it wasn’t about finding someone willing to adopt her. It was about finding the home where Belinda could look at Mary and know, this is where you belong.

Then, a little over a month ago, Joe called us from the Okanagan.

He and his family were interested in Mary.

After Belinda got off the phone with him, she looked at Colin and said:

“I found Mary’s home.”

There was only one problem.

It was all the way in the Okanagan.

But if you know Belinda, you probably already know that wasn’t going to stop her.

Belinda had been talking with the family and decided she wanted to personally take Mary to her new home. Darla had also found a home in the Okanagan, so Belinda and Colin packed up the two girls and made the drive to BC.

And when they arrived, everything Belinda had felt over the phone was confirmed in person.

Mary’s new family invited Belinda and Colin into their beautiful home for dinner. They were warm, down-to-earth people who understood that Mary needed patience and time. They shared many of the same values about caring for their dogs, including feeding healthy food.

And perhaps most importantly, there was Vinny.

One of the things Belinda felt strongly about was that Mary should have another little dog in her new home. Vinny, the family’s Chihuahua, was waiting for her.

Belinda had loved this family on the phone.

She loved them even more after meeting them.

When Belinda and Colin finally left the Okanagan and started the drive home, Belinda felt something she hadn’t been able to feel with any of the previous families who had shown interest in Mary.

She felt completely at peace.

After more than a year of caring for Mary, protecting her, understanding her quirks and waiting for exactly the right people, she knew Mary was home.

And then the updates started coming.

Mary and Vinny play together. They run around together. They sleep together.

And there is one little story that might be our favourite.

Apparently Vinny has never been much of a walker. He would walk for a little while and then decide he wanted to go straight back home.

Well, the other day Mary was heading out for her walk and little Vinny was trying to get out through the side of the gate because he wanted to go with Mary.

How adorable is that?

This is why we do rescue.

It isn’t simply about finding a dog a home. It’s about finding that dog the right home — a place where they won’t simply have a life, but where they can have a happy, wonderful life.

Rescue certainly has its ups and downs. As Belinda has said many times, the dogs are rarely the difficult part. But then something like this happens, and you remember exactly why you keep going.

Mary waited more than a year.

And looking at her now, maybe she wasn’t waiting at all.

Maybe we were just waiting for Joe, Bella, Vinny and the rest of her family to find her.

We’re going to share some pictures below of Mary in her new home and, of course, with her new little brother Vinny.

To all of you who followed Mary’s journey and cheered her on while she was with CB Rescue, please leave a message for Mary and her new family in the comments.

This is what rescue is about.

Happy life, sweet Mary.

You were worth the wait.

Remember when Mary first came to CB Rescue? She had this worried look on her wrinkly forehead. Look at her now lounging poolside! Life is good Mary!

Meet Keeley 💜
A gorgeous 6 month old Cane Corso cross! A happy, playful, goofy girl who’s ready to find her perfect home🐶

She’s a total water lover 💦, rides beautifully in the car 🚗, and settles well in her kennel. Her house training 🏡 is well on its way, and she’s making steady progress on leash 🐕. Because she hasn’t been exposed to much yet, some parts of the world still feel big and new, but she’s already come a long way in just a few weeks. With gentle guidance, patience and continued positive experiences, she’ll keep gaining confidence. 🐾

She absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive with a friendly canine companion to show her the ropes. Her sweet nature, eagerness to learn, and silly personality make her a wonderful match for someone who wants a young dog they can help shape into an amazing adult.

If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate pup who’s ready to grow into your adventure buddy, this girl might be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.💕
