Founded by Colin and Belinda Morrison, their passion for dogs is the driving force behind CB. Colin and Bella Morrison have a passion for all animals but a special place for dogs. They have been rescuing, fostering and volunteering with other rescues here in Calgary and internationally. They decided to start there own Non -Profit society to help abused and neglected dogs. It really happened by acc

ident; they came across a dog that was chained for 2 years - no walks, no interaction. They approached the owner and bought the dog. This Husky is now in the best home for her, gets walks every day, spa treatments and is spoiled rotten! Colin and Belinda knew they could help other dogs. They believe every dog should have their own loving family who will exercise, provide love and take them in as a part of their family. CB does not discriminate against breed or the location of the dog. CB Rescue will take its time in finding every dog their own perfect home. We look for DOG LOVERS not just DOG OWNERS. I am happy that main stream trainers are talking about nutrition now!
Finally!

You are what you eat !

We know that with humans, eating bad, diets consisting of mainly ultra processed foods, can affect us negatively. It can affect our skin, our sleep and our health. So many health problems are caused by a bad diet in humans, obesity, heart disease, allergies, joint problems and behaviour problems and more.
We know the fix is many times, eating more single whole foods, more proteins, more fruits, more vegetables, less UPFs. We know that moving more is also key and getting a better night sleep. All of us can control what we put into our bodies, within reason….
. did you know that dogs can’t ! You are in control of what goes into your dogs body, you are in control of what they eat and making sure they are being exercised fully.

Poor nutrition in dogs just like with humans, can lead to behaviour issues, can lead to health problems, can lead to lack of sleep and the cycle goes round and round.
If your dog is carrying extra weight, that makes them uncomfortable, if your dogs diet doesn’t agree with them, it can causes skin issues, a**l glad issues, ear problems just to name a few, this can make them uncomfortable. Poor nutrition and/or lack of exercise can lead to less sleep, which can lead to them being restless, which can lead to behaviour problems not to mention the related health issues.

So what’s the solution, for me, it’s simple, it’s whole foods. A raw food diet is king when it comes to dogs or at the very least a diet that contains very few ingredients and doesn’t have lots of additives. The key is also making sure your dog is getting enough exercise. Most adult dogs need between 1-2 hours exercise a day outside the house. They also need to be placed in their bed or a crate afterwards so they learn to switch off. Minimum 2 hours. This over time, will bring back more natural balance in your dog, where they naturally switch off after exercise and things like exercises barking, separation anxiety, destructive behaviour to make a few things, improves.

Proper diet, like raw food can benefit your dogs health and make them much happier, healthier and more content.

Exercise + Decent Diet + Sleep = happy dog.

🐾 Desmond the “Dobi who thinks he’s a Husky” 🐾

Desmond is a 7-month-old Doberman mix, weighing 31 lbs, and very much in that fun (and challenging!) adolescent stage. He’s currently in training and doing well, showing just how smart and eager he is to learn.

We’re starting to see his Doberman instincts come through, particularly around guarding. These instincts can’t be removed—but with the right management, structure, and guidance, they can absolutely be shaped into positive behaviors.

Desmond is:
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with kids (he can be jumpy, as many pups his age are)
✔️ Intelligent, driven, and responsive to training

Because Desmond is entering adolescence, he will test boundaries. He needs a confident, committed handler who understands that training doesn’t stop after adoption—it continues.

👉 Important adoption requirement:
Desmond must continue working with our trainer for at least a couple of sessions with his new family. This is part of the adoption agreement and is designed to set both Desmond and his family up for long-term success.

If you’re looking for a dog who thrives with leadership, consistency, and purpose, Desmond may be your guy. With the right home, he’s going to be an incredible companion.

Angel Angie (Angel) decided she was absolutely getting on the Christmas photo bandwagon… and honestly? She nailed it. How adorable is she?! 🥰

Angel is a 3-year-old Dachshund–Italian Greyhound mix, weighing 17 pounds, and she has been waiting patiently for her forever family. She knows that Belinda will only choose the perfect family for her — because that’s exactly what Angel deserves.

And let us tell you… this girl is the real deal.
✔️ Professionally trained
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Leash trained
✔️ Command trained
✔️ Car trained
✔️ E-collar trained

RECALL 100%

She has completed agility and obedience classes and would absolutely thrive continuing with agility, rally, or nose work. Angel loves having a job and being mentally and physically engaged.

Basically… we just call her TRAINED. 😉

Angel loves dogs, cats, and people, and she truly shines when she’s out doing life with her person. Hiking, camping, adventures, activities — she would love a home where she can be included and experience the world alongside her human.

She’s ready.
She’s waiting.
And her Christmas wish is simple — a forever family of her very own.

If you think Angel Angie might be your missing piece, please reach out. Her forever family is out there… we just haven’t found them yet.

Our Story

Founded in 2017 in Calgary, CB Rescue Foundation has quickly grown into a respected and well-recognized rescue. CB Rescue named after its Founders Colin and Belinda Morrison have a passion for all animals, but a special place for dogs. They have been rescuing, fostering and volunteering with other rescues here in Calgary and internationally since 2014. They decided to start there own non -profit society to help abused and neglected dogs. It really happened by accident, in 2011 they came across a dog that was chained for 2 years, no walks no interaction. They approached the owner and bought the dog. This Husky is now in the best home for her, walks every day, spa treatments and spoiled rotten! Colin and Belinda knew they could help other dogs. They believe every dog should have their own loving family, who will exercise the dog, provide love and take them as a part of their family. CB Rescue will take its time in finding every dog their own perfect home. We look for DOG LOVERS not just DOG OWNERS. We strive to match each of our animals with the home that is perfect for them. Our in-depth adoption process was developed with that goal in mind and has resulted in a less than 1% return rate. Once a CB rescue dog, always a CB Rescue dog.

100% volunteer based.
