Wishing all of our friends and clients a very Merry Christmas filled with love and cheer!
A WHITE SPIRIT CHRISTMAS by Debra Garside
T’was the night before Christmas and all through the range.
Not a creature was stirring, it was all very strange!
A Chinook Arch was hung in the sky very low
And all through the land -- not a speck of white snow.
The reindeer had left in despair and dismay
Leaving Santa with no one to pull forth his sleigh
“Oh, what will I do?” Santa cried, so destroyed
“With a harness that’s empty and a shop full of toys?”
And as he was praying for some kind of sign
White Spirit stepped forward and offered his kind.
“Don’t worry Santa! The Wildies can deliver!”
And he leapt to his side with his mane all a quiver.
“I’ll summon the herds, and we’ll get this job done
Snow or no snow, we’ll be finished by dawn.”
Within just a minute the Wildies came out
They jumped in the harness and stood rather proud.
So, Santa and helpers all mounted the sleighs
And took up the reins in mysterious ways
The wildies took flight and they flew past the clouds
And the voices of drivers could be heard o’er the crowds:
“On Comet, on Whiskey, on Ben and now Teddy
On Banner, on Phoenix and Maverick get ready!
On Donder and Gala and Harrow and Sterling
On Spirit and Foxtrot and Radar and Merlin!”
The mares were there too with their own special sled
With Mrs. Saint Nick at the reins as she said
“On Snow Queen, on Whisper, Sequoia and Yepa!
On Istas, on Hope, on Bryn and Carletta!”
They flew through the night and delivered the toys
And so, in the morning the good girls and boys
Found all of their presents piled under the trees
And laughed with delight as they fell to their knees
They opened the wrappers and rejoiced at the swag
But noticed each present was attached with a tag
“From Santa and Spirit and the New Sleigh Bell Rookies.
When we visit next year, leave us carrots not cookies! “
The grey clouds moved in and delivered their snow
In time for White Christmas and home fires aglow
And the horses returned to their free mountain home
May they always be with us, forever to roam.
Merry Christmas to All!
