🎉Huge congrats to Ellie Williamson for wining the Gord Award at this years Iron Legs Mountain Races 🎉

This award was created by Pete Estabrooks as a tribute to Gord Hobbins. It was to be given out to a runner at this years race who displayed joy, perseverance, encouragement and any other trait that Gord displayed. This year the award went to Ellie Williamson who was at the start line of the 100k for the 4th time. Every year she was on the trails with a smile on her face encouraging others and after 3 DNF’s kept coming back and with perseverance and tenacity she made it to the finish line.

Thanks Ellie for showing us all that we can all achieve our goals by bringing smiles, joy, determination, perseverance and tenacity.

Thanks Pete for the generous donation of a $250 gift card to Gord’s Running Store as the prize.

On December 20th, take on 20 miles of snow-covered trails at West Bragg Creek, racing against the setting sun in a breathtaking winter landscape. 🏃‍♂️🌄

Expect crisp air, sparkling snow, and the thrill of chasing daylight through rolling hills and forested trails. This is winter trail running at its finest.

Couldn’t ask for a better day to flag the west part of the Iron Legs Mountain Races course! Thank you to all who came out to help set the course up! The summer rain has definitely helped soak into our dry trails. Racers, expect lush vegetation and a few short creek crossings!
