NWTSPCA shelter animals are being evacuated today! 🚨

AARCS intake teams have been working with the brave staff of the NWTSPCA to assist with evacuating shelter animals. 💚

Today, 41 animals are safely on a flight that left Yellowknife this morning set to arrive in Edmonton where our team will be waiting to pick them up and drive them to Calgary. 🐶🐱 These animals are not owned and will placed for adoption in our adoption program, providing relief to the SPCA to assist animals still in the community.

A HUGE THANK YOU to our volunteer foster families who have stepped up to help with the intake of these animals. 💚 Our shelters are full, but because of the generosity of these families who agree to foster, we were able to make room for these evacuees. Fostering truly save lives.

We'd also like to thank Glenpark Pet Hotel & Suites, Raincoast Pet Rescue & Courage K9 for intaking some of the inbound animals. Keep all of those impacted by wildfires in your thoughts and prayers. 💚
