Did you know that International Cat Day was first celebrated in 2002? The International Fund for Animal Welfare wanted to raise awareness about the general health and welfare for cats worldwide. It's also a great excuse to post some cat photos!

If you stop by the clinic this week, you may notice something different about our front door, or lack thereof. We had a break-in over the weekend and will be rocking the "vandal chic" look until we can get the glass replaced! āœØ Almost nothing of value was stolen, and we are fortunate that the only real damage is to the front door.

Dorothy is a sweet, gentle girl whoā€™s really come into her own. While she used to be on the shy side, she has gained so much confidence and now enjoy being part of the action especially when it involves relaxing and sharing space with her foster, and soaking up gentle affection. She has a calm, friendly presence and truly shine in a peaceful environment where she feel safe and secure.

She would do wonderfully as your one and only cat, but she may also be open to sharing her home with another respectful, easygoing feline friend. A quiet, mature household would be the perfect fit for her, where she can lounge in sunny spots, enjoy soft pets, and continue blossoming at her own comfortable pace.

Dorothy has suspected diet allergies, but theyā€™re well managed with a prescription food thatā€™s readily available through veterinary clinics and she does great when sticking to it.

This sweet girls has been given a fresh start, and is now ready to find a patient, loving home where she can feel truly at ease and cherished. Could that be with you?

Curious about his surroundings and friendly towards his foster mom, heā€™s currently happiest engaging with his equally shy sibling. Othello may be shy but heā€™s full of paw-tential. Patience and persistence are key to winning his trust, and now that he trusts his foster mom more, he comes to see where she is more and more often. Presently happiest engaging with his equally shy sibling, Othello is highly food motivated and fully litter box trained. Now, all he needs is an especially patient home, preferably with another friendly feline, and gentle adopters devoted to teaching him people are kind and heā€™s safe fur-ever.

Killarney Cat Hospital is a well-established cat only clinic in Calgary, Alberta, seeking a full-time or part-time Veterinarian to join our team. Our clinic prides itself on providing high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment. We focus on a wide range of services including preventive care, senior wellness, diagnostics, dentistry and surgery. We offer a competitive salary (commensurate with experience), health & dental benefits, paid CE, dues & licensing, mentorship & support for new grads, and work-life balance. Weā€™re looking for a doctor that is fully licensed (or eligible to be licensed) in Alberta, has strong communication & clinical skills, and is a team player with a genuine passion for cats. Hi, Iā€™m Bonnie! At first, the world feels big and I feel small, but give me timeā€¦ soon Iā€™ll be following your every step, and after I eat, just watch me run and play just for you. Though I may take some time to get comfortable with humans, my friends in my foster home are rabbits and I get along well with them! I havenā€™t been around cats and dogs yet.

I have a manageable skin condition that can occasionally cause lesions, but with the right medication and a special diet, my skin is looking fantastic!
