Good morning, Rocky Mountain French Bulldog family! ☀️🐾

Happy Saturday! We started our morning bright and early at the Auburn Bay Dog Park, letting the dogs burn off some energy and enjoy a good run.

Today is shaping up to be a busy one. We’re celebrating Hudson’s birthday with a hockey party at the rink 🏒🎂, and then we’re heading to Canmore to help Aiden pick up his very first car! 🚗 We are incredibly excited for this milestone and can’t wait to see him behind the wheel of something he can call his own.

Before we know it, the day will be over, and tomorrow brings another full day of fun with baseball, friends, and family. ⚾️

And of course, tomorrow is Father’s Day. A special shoutout to all the amazing dads, stepdads, grandpas, and father figures who show up every day with love, patience, and support. We hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating.

Wishing everyone a fantastic Saturday and making lots of memories with the people (and pups!) you love most. ❤️🐶

Happy Veterinary Appreciation Day! 🩺🐾

Today, we want to give a huge thank you to all the veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, receptionists, and support staff who dedicate their lives to caring for our beloved pets.

Whether it’s a routine checkup, an emergency in the middle of the night, or helping guide families through difficult decisions, veterinary professionals show compassion, skill, and dedication every single day.

As breeders, we are especially grateful for the incredible veterinary teams who help keep our dogs and puppies healthy from the day they are born and throughout their lives.

Thank you for everything you do for our furry family members. ❤️

☀️🐾 Common Summer Toxicities in Dogs 🐾☀️

Summer is all about sunshine, camping trips, backyard BBQs, and outdoor adventures—but it can also bring hidden dangers for our dogs.

⚠️ Common Summer Toxicities to Watch For:

🌽 Corn Cobs
A favorite at BBQs, but if swallowed they can cause life-threatening intestinal blockages.

🍫 Chocolate & Desserts
Summer gatherings often mean treats left within reach. Chocolate can be toxic and dangerous for dogs.

🍇 Grapes & Raisins
Even small amounts can cause kidney failure in some dogs.

🌱 Fertilizers & Lawn Chemicals
Freshly treated lawns and gardens can contain products that may cause vomiting, diarrhea, or more serious illness.

🐜 Ant & Rodent Poisons
These products are often used more frequently during warmer months and can be extremely dangerous if ingested.

🚗 Blue-Green Algae
Found in some ponds and lakes, this toxic algae can be fatal and requires immediate veterinary attention.

🌺 Toxic Plants
Many popular summer plants and flowers can be harmful if chewed or eaten.

🍺 Alcohol
Keep drinks out of reach—dogs are much more sensitive to alcohol than people.

💊 Human Medications
Visitors and vacations can mean medications are left accessible. Always keep them secured.

🐕 When in doubt, call your veterinarian immediately. Quick action can make all the difference in a poisoning emergency.

Enjoy your summer adventures, stay safe, and keep those curious noses out of trouble! ☀️❤️🐾

🐾 FUN GAMES TO PLAY WITH YOUR DOG 🐾

Looking for ways to keep your pup entertained, mentally stimulated, and happy? Here are some fun games your dog will love!

🎾 Fetch with a Twist
Instead of throwing the ball the same way every time, change directions, add obstacles, or have your dog perform a simple command before each throw.

👃 Find It!
Hide treats around the house or yard and encourage your dog to use their nose to find them. This is a great mental workout!

🏃 Hide and Seek
Have your dog stay while you hide, then call them to find you. Most dogs absolutely love this game!

🧩 Puzzle Toys
Food puzzles and treat-dispensing toys help challenge your dog’s brain while rewarding them for problem-solving.

🐕 Obstacle Course
Use household items, tunnels, or cones to create a mini agility course in your backyard.

❤️ Remember: Dogs need both physical exercise AND mental stimulation. Just 10–15 minutes of brain games can tire out a dog as much as a long walk!

🐾 A Day in the Life of Rocky Mountain French Bulldogs 🐾

Ever wonder what a typical day looks like around here? ❤️

Life at Rocky Mountain French Bulldogs is busy, rewarding, and filled with plenty of Frenchie snuggles!

☀️ Morning starts with potty breaks, breakfast, fresh water, and lots of tail wags.

🐶 The dogs enjoy playtime, enrichment activities, and plenty of time to stretch their legs and burn off energy.

🩺 As a Registered Veterinary Technician, health and wellness are always a priority. Daily checks help ensure everyone is happy, healthy, and thriving.

📸 Throughout the day, we spend time socializing, training, taking photos, answering puppy inquiries, and keeping in touch with our amazing puppy families.

🧸 Puppies are exposed to everyday sights, sounds, and experiences to help build confidence and prepare them for life in their future homes.

❤️ Of course, there are plenty of cuddles, couch time, and Frenchie kisses mixed in between.

🌙 Evenings are spent winding down with the dogs, family time, and preparing for another busy day ahead.

While every day looks a little different, one thing never changes: our commitment to raising healthy, well-socialized French Bulldogs and giving each dog the love and care they deserve.

Thank you for following along on our journey and being part of the Rocky Mountain French Bulldogs family! 🐾

☔🐾 Rainy Day Enrichment Ideas for Dogs 🐾☔

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!

Dogs need mental stimulation just as much as physical exercise, and a rainy day is the perfect opportunity to keep their minds busy indoors. 🧠✨

Here are some of our favorite rainy-day activities:

🦴 Stuff a Kong or enrichment toy with your dog’s favorite treats

👃 Create a “find it” game by hiding treats around the house

🎓 Practice basic obedience or teach a new trick

🧩 Try a puzzle feeder or snuffle mat

🎾 Play indoor fetch down a hallway

🏠 Build a blanket fort and enjoy some cuddle time

🐕 Set up a mini obstacle course using household items

💙 Schedule a grooming session with brushing, nail trims, or paw care

Remember, a mentally stimulated dog is often a happier and more relaxed dog. Even 15–20 minutes of enrichment can help burn energy and prevent boredom.

How does your dog like to spend a rainy day? Tell us below! ☔👇

🏥🐾 The Power of “Happy Visits” 🐾🏥

Did you know that your dog doesn’t have to visit the veterinary clinic only when they’re sick or getting vaccines?

✨ “Happy visits” are short, positive trips to the clinic where your dog can stop by, receive treats, meet the staff, step on the scale, and then head home—no exams or procedures required!

Why are happy visits so beneficial?

🐾 Build positive associations with the clinic
🐾 Reduce fear and anxiety during future appointments
🐾 Help puppies become comfortable with new environments
🐾 Allow dogs to practice being handled by different people
🐾 Make future vet visits less stressful for everyone

Just like socialization, positive experiences add up over time. A few minutes spent creating good memories can make a huge difference when your dog needs medical care in the future.

As veterinary professionals, one of our favorite things is seeing dogs walk through the clinic doors with wagging tails and confidence ❤️

🐶 Things Your Dog Wishes You Understood 🐶

Sometimes our dogs are trying their best to communicate with us — we just have to slow down and listen ❤️

✨ “I’m not giving you a hard time… I might be having a hard time.”
Fear, anxiety, overstimulation, and confusion can all affect behaviour.

✨ “I need more than just physical exercise.”
Mental stimulation, training, sniff walks, and quality time matter too 🧠🐾

✨ “Please be patient while I learn.”
Dogs do not automatically understand our world. Training takes consistency and kindness.

✨ “I thrive on routine.”
Predictability helps dogs feel safe and confident.

✨ “Sometimes I just want to be near you.”
To us it may seem small, but companionship means everything to them 🫶🏼

✨ “Positive reinforcement helps me learn faster.”
Rewarding good choices builds trust and confidence.

✨ “I age faster than you think.”
The years go by quickly — cherish the cuddles, the walks, and even the messy moments.

At the end of the day, our dogs are not looking for perfection. They are looking for love, safety, guidance, and connection ❤️

Give your pup an extra cuddle today from all of us at Rocky Mountain French Bulldogs 🐾

☀️🐾 Summer Paw Protection & Hot Pavement Reminders 🐾☀️

As much as we love sunny days, summer heat can be tough on our dogs’ paws!

Did you know that pavement, asphalt, artificial turf, and even sand can become hot enough to cause painful burns in just minutes? 🌡️

Here are a few ways to keep your pup safe this summer:

🐾 The 7-Second Test
Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

🌅 Walk During Cooler Hours
Early mornings and evenings are usually the safest times for walks.

🌳 Stick to Grass & Shaded Paths
Whenever possible, choose cooler surfaces over asphalt and concrete.

💧 Bring Water
Hydration is important for both you and your pup during summer adventures.

👀 Watch for Signs of Paw Injury
Limping, licking paws, redness, blisters, or reluctance to walk can all indicate burned paw pads.

👟 Consider Paw Protection
Dog booties or paw wax can help protect sensitive paws on hot surfaces.

Remember, our dogs rely on us to make safe choices for them. A quick temperature check before your walk can prevent a painful injury and keep summer adventures fun for everyone! ❤️🐶
