Some good information
⚠️ Blue-green algae can be deadly for pets.
During warmer months, harmful algae blooms can appear in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving water — and dogs can become seriously ill from drinking or swimming in contaminated water.
Watch for:🐾 Water that looks green, blue-green, or has a paint-like film🐾 Thick algae floating on the surface🐾 Foul or unusual smells near the water
Symptoms after exposure can include:
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Weakness
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Difficulty walking
⚠️ Seizures
If you suspect exposure, contact a veterinarian immediately.
When in doubt, keep pets out of questionable water and bring fresh drinking water on adventures!
