She’s officially decided she wants to be a Junior Handler, and judging by how seriously she’s watching everything, I might be out of a job soon! 👧🐶🏆

A groomer’s honest opinion… 🐾
One question I get asked all the time is:
“What’s the best shampoo for my dog?”
My answer usually surprises people.
After more than 20 years of grooming dogs, I’ve learned that it’s not always about buying the most expensive shampoo. It’s about understanding the coat in front of you and knowing how to get the very best from the products you use.
I’ve been using DezynaDog Doodle Doo on many doodle coats and have been impressed with the results. It cleans well, leaves the coat soft and fluffy, and the conditioner helps with manageability when used correctly.
But here’s what really matters…
✔️ Proper dilution ✔️ Knowing when to layer products ✔️ Choosing the right products for the coat type ✔️ Giving the shampoo enough contact time ✔️ Correct drying techniques
These are the details that transform a good groom into a great one.
No shampoo—no matter how expensive—can replace regular brushing and proper coat maintenance at home.

The road to the show ring isn’t built on perfect stacks alone. 🐾

Yesterday, Kumba, Ice, and Price traded the training field for the off-leash park.

There were no ribbons. No judges. Just dogs running, playing, building fitness, and enjoying every second of it.

People often think show preparation is all drills and repetition. In reality, it’s also about conditioning, confidence, and making sure your dog loves the journey as much as the destination.

Price is gearing up for her dog show next month, and sessions like these are just as important as ring practice.

A tired dog is one thing.
A fit, happy, and confident dog is a competitor.

As the temperatures rise, a few simple precautions can make all the difference. From checking the pavement before every walk to keeping fresh water on hand, small habits help protect our dogs from heat-related emergencies.

One thing I always remind clients:
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws. 🐾🔥

A little planning means more happy walks, more wagging tails, and more memories together.

The answer is simple—I never want to take the joy out of the process.

I don’t believe a great show dog is one that performs because it’s afraid to make a mistake. I believe the best dogs are the ones that step into the ring with confidence, excitement, and complete trust in their handler.

Every training session, every walk, every game, and every moment we spend together builds this bond. So when it’s finally time to enter the ring, it doesn’t feel like work to them—it feels like another adventure we get to share.

This picture says everything I believe in. A dog so excited to be with me that it couldn’t contain itself. That excitement isn’t taught through pressure; it’s earned through trust, consistency, and making the journey enjoyable.

Of course, I love winning. But long after the ribbons are put away, this is what stays with me—the relationship.

Because the best handlers don’t just showcase dogs. They build partnerships that shine through every stride, every glance, and every joyful moment in the ring. ❤️🐾
