Throwback to T.O. Grooming Show 2025, where I placed 4th in the novice Salon Freestyle class! Sam hated every minute of it π
Although he tolerates it because I'm the one grooming him, this show was definitely his swan song. What a way to go out, though. I saw a photo of Jodi Murphy 's dog, Nick, groomed by her daughter Mackensie Murphy , as a poodlington, and I fell in love π It felt really special to be judged by her and get this win from a grooming legend in our industry. I was also judged by the amazing Macie Pisa
I've had the privilege to groom next to her at only my second competition ever at the LETS Groom in Niagara Falls, and was in awe of her dog Vlad, who, was also in a poodlington trim for that competition! She has risen to be a top competitor, groom team USA member, Pooch Perfect on ABC winner, and now Judge! I was so incredibly proud of myself and Sam for our last time in the ring together (for real this time π).
My goal for this show was not to actually win a ribbon but to get out of my head, do what I know how to do, and not second guess it. It was about enjoying my time in the ring and the time I get to spend with my own dog, just being comfortable. I achieved that at this competition, which was the real win. Thanks to Michelle Jessop for all your hard work and dedication to put on this show for π¨π¦ Thank you to the generous sponsors of all the classes, and to Cheryl Parr from Parr Grooming Supplies for donating to the Freestyle class. Congrats to all my fellow competitors and friends that got in the ring. Keep Growing π±π
