Poor boy!
It took several months of intensive strategy to gain the trust of this fellow we have been calling William.
When his foster mom noticed him outside last fall, he was wearing a collar and had a complete tail.
For some reason he was abandoned outside and his tail was cut? Squished? Caught in something?
Anyway, infection set in and and chunks of tail, started falling off, getting frozen to the ground Was it gangrene? Frost bite?
His foster mom was determined to get him in and get him help. He refused to go anywhere near a live trap, so for many weeks she blasted a space heater into a bathroom and opened the window (under her deck) - to lure him to come in.
She heated up food - bowl after bowl full. He came, ate and hopped back out the window. Finally the day came that he was far enough inside that she could shut the door.
Today was the vet visit - thank you so much to Albion Hills Veterinary Hospital - you are wonderful!
More of his tail needed to be amputated in order to find healthy flesh - but look how tidy, clean and healthy it looks now💗
Thank you Lorna Lee for your always stellar work- he’s so much more comfortable now that he’s not in pain and full of infection
Well on his way to recovery- now he’s a bobcat!💗
