The Ferguson Equine team paired with Boehringer Ingelheim and Angelstone Events to present an educational seminar on Equine Gastric Ulcers with big success! Lots of discussion, delicious food, raffles and 2 live gastroscopy demonstrations 🐴🙌🏻

The first heartbeat check is always exciting 🐴💕

This mare is approximately 28 days in foal at a routine heartbeat check. At this appointment, blood is often pulled to check the mares progesterone levels to ensure it is high enough to support pregnancy or if she will need to be supplemented with regumate 👍🏻

There were concerns this 3 week old foal may have gotten a kick to the head so further investigation was warranted to ensure no fractures were present. Fortunately, it was cosmetic and the foal carried on as normal 👍🏻

We are so lucky to have such mobile x-ray technology to make appointments for these little guys quick and easy 🐴

Introducing Dr. Talya Beattie to the FEVS team! Now that she’s been with us for the past two weeks, we thought it was time for a proper introduction 👏🏻

She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2019 and has since worked in Yorkshire as an equine veterinarian. Then, ready for her next adventure she has moved to Canada and we are so excited to have her here at Ferguson Equine 🐴

Passionate about all aspects of general practice with a certain interest in emergency medicine! When not working, you can likely find her watching football or going for a hike with her dogs, Moose and Fern 🐾

Please make sure to give her a warm FEVS welcome next time you see her☺️

Our Story

Dr. Ferguson is a 2006 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. He began is career working for a local practice specializing in sports medicine and reproduction. After 5 years, he decided to leave and start his own practice in 2012. Since then Ferguson Equine has grown rapidly, with a strong focus on sports medicine, reproduction and routine health management. Our clinic offers primarily mobile services, along with in house reproductive services (Frozen Semen, broodmare care and supportive care for colics and intensive cases).

Our clinic offers in-house laboratory services, frozen semen storage, and regenerative medicine such as PrP and stem cell therapy.

Dr. Ferguson has a great support team! Kelly Flesch runs the office and also monitors the horses in the clinic. Sarah Ball is on the road with Dr. Ferguson 5 days a week and Carey Ferguson takes care of administrative matters.
