Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program

Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program Trap, Neuter, Return, Maintain of Community Cats in Cote Saint Luc. The overpopulation of feral, homeless cats in our city is a huge cause for concern.

Cote Saint Luc officially launched a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program in March 2011, to humanely trap, sterilize, and return feral cats to their original territory. TNR is proven as the most humane and cost-efficient way of controlling and decreasing the numbers of homeless cats. Councillor Mike Cohen, with Committee Chair Diane Liebling, spearhead the initiative, and along with a dedicated grou

p of volunteers run the program. Supporters include the Cote Saint Luc Animal Hospital, and the group is grateful for the financial support of the City of Cote Saint Luc. The committee maintains a hotline for residents to report feral cats in their area and works to educate the public about the importance of sterilizing cats and to inform the public about cat by-laws in Cote Saint Luc. Annual fundraising activities augment funding the committee receives to ensure the program can meet its objectives. Fundraisers have included an annual concert with the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra, a table at the Cote Saint Luc Mega Garage Sale in May, and and online raffle starting in September and going through to the end of November with the draw in December. Donations are always welcome, and tax receipts are available.

UPDATE:

Found the owner.
A ‘free roaming’ cat who has lost his collar.🤷🏻‍♀️
He will go home in his own time.

Hello CSL:

This friendly cat spotted on Einstein between Kildare and Guelph.

No collar.

They will be brought to the Cote Saint luc Animal Hospital to check for a microchip.

Residents are once AGAIN reminded that while you are allowed to let your cat ‘free roam’…. They must have a collar and be microchipped.

You take a huge chance that your cat will be hit by a car or worse… But I can’t change the bylaw.

There are several very good and inexpensive breakaway collars on the market… Use them and replace them as necessary.

To:

Residents of Cote St. Luc who are feeding outdoor cats that are part of our TNRM program.

Please take note that, if you’re feeding outdoor cats that have been TNR’ed, you must be mindful of putting your cats on a feeding schedule.

If you are feeding them twice a day, you can put out the food in the morning at around 5 to 6 AM and bring it back an hour later.

In the evening: same thing. Put the food out before sundown and bring it back inside an hour or so later.

Outdoor TNRM cats CAN and MUST be trained to come at these designated times.

While there have not been a LOT of complaints regarding the feeding of outdoor cats… When the food is left out all the time it does attract other urban animals… Groundhogs, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc.

AND YES, there has been a complaint and PUBLIC SECURITY is now involved.

You CANNOT leave the food out all day.

PLEASE DO NOT JEOPARDIZE OUR PROGRAM BY NOT FOLLOWING THESE GUIDELINES REGARDING THE FEEDING OF OUTDOOR TNR CATS.

UPDATE:
Little ‘Einstein’ has been spoken for.
Thank you, everyone!
🐈❤️🐾🐈❤️🐾🐈❤️🐾🐈❤️🐾

Hello All:

Meet ‘Einstein’, an approximately seven week old kitten available for adoption.

He was found outside alone, although I’ve been told that an adult cat was found deceased nearby that may have been his mother.
😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😿

It’s a miracle he was found when he was because I don’t see such a tiny kitten surviving for long outside in this weather.

🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Einstein is bright-eyed, healthy, inquisitive and playful.

He’s eating and drinking well and, of course, using the litter (as most kittens do intuitively).

Adoption fee is $375 and includes:

1. Base vaccination, which he has just recently received.
2. Booster vaccination in 3 to 4 weeks.
3. Full deworming protocol
4. Revolution.
5. Neutering at 4-5 months.
6. Microchip at time of neutering.

The adopter must commit to keeping Einstein safely inside with appropriate stimulation.
Safe catios are permissible.

There will be a home visit for his safety.

Children under the age of 7-8 are not advisable for such a small kitten… but not ruled out as long as they are properly supervised.

🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

He has not been tested with dogs but, at this age, I presume he will get along with just about anybody. (Under supervision).

Priority will be given to people who already have another cat (or two) at home.

Cats can easily live to 16 to 18+ years old so if you can provide Einstein a safe, comfortable, and loving permanent home, please contact me.

He will be available in around 10 days.

My little cat Shadow ran away from home this morning (around 7 o'clock) and hasn't come back yet. If you've seen him anywhere, please let me know. He's been hungry and thirsty since this morning.
Thank you so much!

Hello CSL:

Two very small kittens, around 5 to 6 weeks old, have been found about 150 m apart here in CSL.

One was found on Einstein between Kildare and Guelph.
The other was found on Kildare around Caldwell.

They look similar in age and colouring, although there is no absolute proof they are from the same mother.

There is also reports that an adult cat was found deceased nearby on Kildare.
This may have been the mother.

PLEASE, be on the lookout for any young kittens in your backyard or on your property.

Contact me and I will pick them up.

Alternatively, if you’re comfortable, you can bring them directly to the Cote Saint luc Animal Hospital but, please, notify me first.

Do not bring them to the SPCA as we no longer have a contract with them. We will look after them here in CSL.

Without care, these young kittens will not last long if they are alone.

I went out late last night with Malka Labow to look for other kittens but we were unsuccessful.
(Thank you, Malka, and son and son-in-law!!).

Hello CSL and surrounding areas:

Does anyone recognize this cat spotted at the golf course?
This would most likely be at the end of Cote St. Luc Rd. adjacent to Montreal West.

Looks young, no collar, skittish.

If he’s yours please contact me.

Thanks,

Diane

Does this beautiful, long-haired grey cat belong to anyone?
They have recently started showing up on Davies near Wavell.
Obviously quite friendly.
Looks healthy, but no collar.

Please let me know.

Hello CSL and Surrounding areas (particularly Hampstead):

Missing cat by the name of ‘Wiggly’ has gone missing from Glenmore Road between CSL and Cressy.

He’s an indoor cat that slipped out by mistake but, he has not been at his current address for a long time.

He is a male, neutered, slim tabby, about one year-old with no collar or microchip.

He has a green tattoo, but I’m not sure where it is exactly… Probably in his ear.

Please contact me if you spot him or, better yet, try to bring him in to (at least) your vestibule and I will come and get him.

Thank you,

Diane
