In busy urban environments like Burnaby, not all dog walks serve the same purpose. 🐕🐾
Some walks are for exercise.
Some are for routine.
And some are for something most people don’t think about — decompression.
Modern city life can be a lot for dogs to process:
traffic flow, elevators, dense sidewalks, constant visual movement, and ongoing construction noise that becomes part of the background of daily life.
Even well-adjusted, social dogs can spend most of their day “switched on” without ever fully winding down.
That’s where 1:1, monitored walks come in.
The focus isn’t intensity or stimulation — it’s the opposite:
• slower pacing
• consistent handling
• lower environmental load
• time to process without pressure
• structured calm instead of constant input
It’s a different type of walk — designed around recovery, not output. 🍃🍂🌿
For many urban dogs, especially in dense neighbourhoods, this kind of quiet consistency can be an important part of their overall wellbeing.
