✅ Go somewhere in a motorhome off the list

This was our first time travelling in a motorhome and I think I really like it. There’s no way I’m ready to camp in a tent in the snow so this year we rented a motorhome from and we were pleasantly surprised at how roomy it was. We are usually stressing over how to pack everything we ‘need’ into the 4Runner so this was a welcomed relief. Winter gear takes up SO much room but we still had plenty more to spare!

Since I do all the driving, I’ll admit I was a little nervous about the size of this vehicle (we booked the 25’ RV) and this trip in particular as the road conditions were not ideal, but it handled well, was easy to drive and we arrived safely 🫶

We will definitely rent this again!

Have you tried camping in the snow?

If you had told me 3 years ago that I would do this (and like it) I would have thought you were crazy! But now winter camping is quickly becoming my favourite way to camp. Lucy and Chloe love it too. Let’s dive in about this dog friendly location.

📍 E.C. Manning Provincial Park
🚐 Approx 3 hrs from Vancouver
🏔️ Nestled in the heart of the Cascade Mountains

This is how we made the most out of our trip with the dogs:

▪️Book early! Skyview Campground at is open year round and believe it or not, it can fill up fast in the winter. Who knew?! This campground has it’s own booking site whereas all other camping at Manning is booked through the BC Parks website.

▪️Rent a ‘moho’. We booked our motorhome through as the pick up location is only 10 min from our house. In years past we have rented a teardrop trailer but the motorhome gave us SO much more space for us and the dogs, I even said to dog dad that I could probably live in one. Lucy enjoyed having her bed from home to sleep on too.

▪️Dress warm. Having the right clothing makes all the difference as we spend most of our time outdoors (a hot tub and sauna help). Don’t forget about the dogs as they get cold too! Their parkas kept them toasty warm and their boots protected their toe beans, especially Chloe’s grinch toes, from accumulating snow balls. We also packed the whisk just in case. IYKYK

▪️Explore the area. We walked the loop at Twenty Minute Lake and ventured down the road to Lightning Lake. Make sure the lakes are totally frozen before you walk or skate on them though! Please also be mindful that there are NO off-leash areas anywhere in Manning Park. Our long line leashes made these adventures more enjoyable.

As the year comes to an end we wanted to take a moment to look back fondly on a special partnership we formed and share our love for this company.

Homes Alive Pets has been, and will continue to be, our favourite pet store. They literally have everything we need (and want). I seriously find myself inside the store multiple times a month on the search for the next to share with you. I have found the best gear, treats, food, supplements, and toys for Lucy and Chloe that have made our adventures from peak to beach the absolute best they could be!

We have thoroughly loved working with the HAP team this past year and hopefully 🤞🏻 🐾 we get to continue this partnership into 2026. Thank you for everything you have done for us, we love and appreciate you very much 🫶💚

Our winter camping trip is up in the air

I just cancelled our motorhome booking today 😔
The highway is still closed so at the moment we have no way of getting to our destination. I’m really bummed about this. We are hopeful that things will change but we didn’t want to be on the hook for a rental vehicle if we can’t actually use it. We are travelling with a large group and everyone is in the same situation. We figured we could always rebook if (when) the highway opens.

And of course the mountain is getting lots of snow this week so conditions will be perfect…if we can just get there ❄️❄️

I’ll just be over here refreshing my browser every few minutes checking for highway updates 😆 and looking at pictures from last year

Why does it feel like time moves SO fast when it’s actually the one thing that can’t be sped up?
🤔

We’ve been a little quiet around here lately, only because there have been so many things on the go. This past weekend was the year-end party for my real estate brokerage, which 90% of it is planned by myself and a friend. This year we shook things up, changed venues, planned it from scratch, and hired a live band!! It felt like planning a wedding for 200 people but there were 50 bridezillas in the mix 😅 But now it’s over and being hailed as the ….thank goodness because that was A LOT of work! We have one more office event on Thursday and then I’m done planning parties (until January when we literally need to start looking for venues for next year)

I’m beginning to realize why people hire wedding planners. I eloped just to avoid all this chaos and it was definitely worth it!

Other than that, we’ve been on a few adventures, tackling some overdue house projects, and finalizing plans for our winter camping trip in 17 days

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to SHOP!

I use mega sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday to stock up on all the essentials that I will end up buying throughout the year anyways. Practical things.

Such as:
