2 indoor and a limited number of outdoor boarding spaces available on our beautiful private farm, centrally located in rural Burlington and near Oakville and Milton.

We offer superb care from knowledgable on-property owners with a shared 80+ years in the industry, along with our qualified staff.

This is a drama-free, adult-only facility suitable for retired or semi-retired horses. We offer a large, well-drained 3 season outdoor arena and beautifully maintained hacking trails throughout our 76 acre property - but no indoor arena. Dressage and western lessons from the owners are also available but no outside coaching is permitted. Part boarding is also not permitted.

All of our boarders (indoor and out) receive small herd turn out (not mixed) in large safe paddocks (4-wire electrobraid fencing) with ad libitum hay and water (heated in winter). We grow our own hay and store it all under cover, ensuring the highest quality forage fed in high, slow feeders.

Our paddocks are well drained with engineered footing under gates, tractor use areas and feed areas so our paddocks have minimal mud with lots of high and dry space. They also include large hard wood loafing sheds sized to accommodate the entire herd.

All boarders are provided with blanket racks as well as tack storage in our heated tack room and access to indoor feeding, grooming and tacking areas. Owners have 24/7 access to their horses (there are no barn closures). Boarders may use their farrier of choice but must use McKee Pownall Equine for veterinary services as we have a long and established working relationship with that practice.

Expert first aid and layup care provided as needed.

Outdoor board ($500.00 plus HST) includes:
everything noted above plus grain (owner to feed)
**spaces available starting May 1st

Outdoor + board ($700.00 plus HST) includes:
everything noted above plus customized grain program fed by staff daily
medications and suppliments (provided by owner) fed daily
blankets checked and changed as needed daily
**spaces available starting May 1st

Indoor board ($900.00 plus HST) includes:
everything noted above plus a large, clean matted stall
customized grain program fed twice daily
customized square bale hay feed program (1st and 2nd cut) fed to body condition
no auto-waterers - buckets cleaned daily

The simple definition of welfare, "quality of life", can at times be unclear, as this term can mean different things to different people. This is especially true of equine welfare, where breeds vary greatly in their needs. Nonetheless, everyone can agree that providing good welfare to our beloved ho...

OK; time to open up the debate. I just got a call from an "anonymous" neighbour (way to stand by your convictions there neighbour) who said she was appalled that my horses were outside today.
Dear neighbour who is "in the horse world" (i.e. thinks they're beautiful): Our horses are deeply cared-for and are toasty warm under their blankets and in their shelters, and have gorgeous first and second cut hay and heated troughs.
No doubt, this weather sucks, but what is appalling to me, is leaving horses isolated and in stalls for days on end. Horses are meant to move, socialize, and eat and drink at liberty and ad-libitum.
I'm getting VERY fed up with the horse world and its disneyfication of these movement-loving and very social semi-domesticated animals.
Nieghbour, my horses are gastronomically, respiratorally, physically and mentally sound and happy. How's yours?
Horseworld: bubble-wrap does not equal good welfare.
Let the games begin....
