This little brown bean was hatched in March. He was the biggest pup in the litter with the classic blocky head. He was cruising along growing like a w**d and then BANG! All hell broke loose. Puppy strangles...our second case in 32 years of breeding..Popped him to the vet to start treatment. Well I can tell you it did not slow this little man down one bit. His tail has never stopped wagging once. He even has his own fan club at Brookville Vet Clinic. Shout out to Dr Jenn Woods for the excellent care and setting him onto the road to recovery.
Now we did something I don't like to do with pups we don't intend to keep...we named him...or I should say David did. His name is Mongo. Our little Mongo man.
Now Mongo is a very special pup and not for having strangles. This little guy has a personality and a heart 3 times his size. He is the definition of happiness. He is smart and eager to please. He is
confident, loves to swim, play and retrieve. One of his favorite activities is stealing apples that have fallen from the tree to run off and enjoy his little snack.
Mongo is currently a little smaller than he should be for his age. Most likely from the prednisone he was on. As he is weaned off he is having growth spurts. Only time will tell if he will catch up completely or be a little smaller.
I am posting pics of Mongo from over the last few months. He is great with other dogs and would make an excellent buddy for a dog.
