Hey folks. Looking for something to do this weekend? Swing by the Burks falls fairgrounds and check out all the events at the Heritage Festival, there’s lots to do for all ages, and the event is pet friendly. If weather permits, we’ll be down at the dog park with a kiddie pool or two, so your four legged friends can cool off safely. We are collecting monetary donations to go towards new fencing for the park, every little bit helps. And make sure to swing by The Grooming Barn’s vendor booth, where they are doing doggie nail trims.

We spent the long weekend hanging out with Bluey, who was happy to enjoy several short play sessions in the hot sunshine, even though he hogged all the toys 😂 🐾

Hey folks, we hope everyone has enjoyed their first official week of summer. ☀️ We are currently booking into October, so get your reservations in ahead of time. We are fully booked for July, August and September aside from a day or two here and there. 🐾

So many homeless pets. PLEASE stop supporting breeders, puppy mills and backyard breeders. They are profiting off of what should be a family pet, while so many animals are being killed for no good reason. Rescues and shelters are overfilling with animals looking for loving homes. And for the love of god, Spay and neuter your pets! The SPCA programs make it so much more affordable these days.

🚨Did you know ? 🚨

*Did you know that anyone that is associated with our rescue is a volunteer❓
We don't get paid for our time ⏰ or our efforts. We all have families, our own animals, we are fosters, and we have jobs.
*Did you know that we don't have a 🚫shelter, a 🚫facility, 🚫kennels or a 🚫sanctuary❓
We rely on FOSTERS to be able to take in animals 🐾in need
*Did you know that we receive pleas for help daily and most of the time we can't help without the funds $$ available (because 99% of the time the animal is not 🚫 spayed or neutered or don't have their vaccines)
We also need a solid suitable foster available to be able to say "yes"
*Did you know that behind the scenes there are many tears 😭, sometimes lots of frustration, huge discussions about our animals 🐾, endless hours driving to vet appointments- you won't often hear us complain about these things
*Did you know that in today's world 🌎 there are no 🚫 boundaries when people want to unload a cat🐈 or a dog 🐕 ❓ZERO
When someone gets our personal numbers 📞we've had texts and phone calls on holidays, at all hours of the night🌙and my personal favourite was a phone call on Boxing Day at 6am that woke me up.
*Did you know that we have heard so many excuses as to why someone wants to get rid of an animal that a novel could be written telling the "tails" of rescue.
*Did you know that Ontario is in a full blown animal crisis right now❓
*Did you know that animals are losing their lives daily in Ontario due to:
Shelter over crowding and owners not being able to surrender their animals and being left with no other choice but to euthanize the animals themselves at their vet. Just look at the Ontario pet rehoming sites-these threats are on there!
*Did you know that animals are being dumped at an all time high across Ontario? 50% of the animals found as "strays" never are claimed and no one ever comes looking for them 😭

HOW CAN YOU HELP ❓

*Please apply to FOSTER - we are looking for committed, patient fosters that are willing to get to know the animals🐾and get them ready for the next step - adoption
*Please consider ADOPTING.
If not through our organization, then through another rescue or go to your local shelter. There are so many animals in need right now.
*Please DONATE if you can.
Support our fundraisers if you can.
Any and EVERY $1 helps and we are forever grateful 🙏🏿 for all that you have helped our rescue accomplish by supporting us.
*Please VOLUNTEER - rescue burnout is REAL. We have an amazing team that we are looking to build on.

🔹Shout out to local businesses!🔹
What are we up to on this rainy day? After some last minute cancellations, we’re spending some downtime doing paperwork. We’re drafting up letters to send out to local businesses asking for support for our Popcan Fundraiser. We’d like to arrange to pick up their cans on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and add it to our already growing collection. (We know most licensed establishments already have a return system in place for their alcoholic beverages, but if not, we’ll accept those too!) Since the start of June, we’ve already raised nearly $300 thanks to Cathy, Andrea, Kristie, and several anonymous drop off donations.
🔹If you are the owner or employee of a local business that serves canned beverages and are interested in participating, please tag your business in the comments and send us a message so we can connect and get the ball rolling. It’s a great opportunity to support local and get a bit of free publicity.🔹

Just got back from our evening walk. These guys will be out like a light tonight. Weimaraner’s are a super high energy dog and need lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Olivia figured out the puzzle toy super quick, although it was just an easy one I keep in the car.

Worried about your pup being sad and lonely when you go out for the day? We offer drop-ins(30-60 mins) and half day(2-6 hours) rates and are happy to keep them company while you’re away.

Thanks to Andrea for collecting enough cans/bottles for a $25 donation!
Just a reminder, we are still collecting all aluminum beverage cans including pop, juice, carbonated water, and alcohol cans/bottles(please bag these separately for sorting purposes). Preferably crushed but not necessary. Can be bagged or unbagged(we have a bin you can dump into).
Donations can also be made by etransfer to [email protected] (no password needed, put donation or dog park in notes 😊).

We’ve been hanging out with Weimaraner brother sister duo. Little Olivia wants to do everything with big brother Emeric, includinging share his water bowl, his ball, and even his seat😂 🐾
