GREAT NEWS!
Charlie’s stitches are out, there is no more huge lump on her chest, and she doesn’t have to wear her compression vest any longer. Her surgery and recovery were a complete success! Way to go, Charlie! Thank you to everyone who donated towards this. We couldn’t have done this without you! Thank you for your ongoing support 😊

It’s a busy Saturday for Wendal’s Way. We’ll be in 2 locations around Nova Scotia today….

Mary will be hosting our table at the Sheffield Mills Harvest Fair, Sheffield Mills Community Hall, 98 Black Hole Rd. We’ll have lots of great dachshund merchandise for sale in support of our rescue. See poster below for details, it looks like there will be lots to do for the whole family.

Meanwhile stop by and say hi to Marianne who is participating in Nova Scotia’s annual 50 Mile Yardsale. She’ll be located at the Middle Stewiacke Rec Centre, 2395 Hwy 289. All proceeds from her yard sale table will be going to Wendal’s Way.

CHARLIE UPDATE:
Yesterday Charlie had her surgery to remove a large mass on her chest. And the great news is that our vet at Burnside Veterinary Hospital has determined the mass is a large fatty deposit, it’s NOT cancer! Woohoo…best news ever! Thank you again to everyone who donated, your help made all the difference in Charlie being able to have this surgery and move on with her life. 🙏🏻💜

CHARLIE UPDATE:
Yesterday Charlie had her surgery to remove a large mass on her chest. And the great news is that our vet at Burnside Veterinary Hospital has determined the mass is a large fatty deposit, it’s NOT cancer! Woohoo…best news ever! Our girl is now home resting comfortably and getting spoiled like crazy by her foster mom. Rather than needing to have a drain in place, she’s rocking a stylish ‘recovery suit’ for 10-14 days until her stitches can be removed. At 10 years young, we’re so relieved that Charlie has many great years still ahead of her. Thank you again to everyone who donated, your help made all the difference in Charlie being able to have this surgery and move on with her life. 🙏🏻💜

Shout out to Undercoverdachshund, a gentleman in an inflatable wiener dog costume who brings joy to so many people in the Whitby/Oshawa area of Ontario. His walks have become quite the sensation, spreading smiles and laughter wherever he goes. And now he’s entertaining the internet too. We need more of this in the world 💜

We've been blessed by so many people donating towards Charlie's surgery. We didn't want her to wait any longer so her surgery has been booked for later this week. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we're about 70% there, so close! Let's see if we can raise that last bit to reach our fundraising goal to totally cover Charlie's vet costs for this surgery. And remember...a dollar really does make a difference.🙏🏻

✨ Mission Pawsible Monday ✨

Meet Charlie, a sweet little dachshund from 💛 This brave girl is facing a big challenge — a rapidly growing tumour that’s affecting her mobility and will soon affect her breathing according to vet’s. Given its size and location, the surgery will be complicated. The longer we let this grow, the harder (and more expensive) this surgery will be.

But here’s the good news: together, we can make her mission pawsible! 🐾 Surgery and aftercare will give Charlie the chance at the healthy, happy life she deserves, and we’re joining forces with to fundraise and help them make it happen.

Later this week, we’ll be unveiling Charlie’s special fundraiser treats (with the cutest name ever 🐶💕) — available at our markets this weekend, online, and for local delivery! Every purchase will help cover the costs of her surgery and recovery.

Let’s rally for Charlie. Let’s show her she’s not alone. 💪💛🐾
