Always keep this in mind over the summer
If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
Before heading out for a walk, try the 7-second test:
✋ Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can't comfortably keep it there for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
On hot summer days:
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening.
🌳 Stick to shaded trails or grassy areas whenever possible.
💧 Bring fresh water and take plenty of breaks.
🔥 Watch for signs of overheating, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or slowing down.
Your dog may love walks, but they'll love staying safe even more. ❤️
