Running a non-profit reptile rescue is very different from operating a pet store, breeder, or animal dealer. Our mission is to provide a safe place for reptiles that have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or can no longer be cared for by their owners. Every animal that enters our care requires housing, heating, lighting, food, veterinary care, cleaning supplies, and countless hours of volunteer time.
As a non-profit organization, all donations and available funds are directed toward the care and rehabilitation of the reptiles already in our program. Because of these ongoing expenses, we are not financially able to purchase reptiles from individuals seeking to surrender them.
When a rescue purchases animals, it diverts limited resources away from the animals already depending on that rescue for care. Accepting surrendered reptiles is intended to provide a responsible alternative for owners who can no longer keep their pets, not to create a marketplace for animal sales.
We understand that many reptiles have significant monetary value, and owners are welcome to sell their animals privately if they wish to recover some of their investment. However, if you are seeking to surrender a reptile to our rescue, please understand that we cannot buy the animal. Our focus is, and always will be, on providing care, rehabilitation, and responsible placement for reptiles in need.
We appreciate the understanding and support of our community, as every dollar saved helps us provide food, medical care, proper housing, and a second chance for the reptiles entrusted to us.
