Reptile Rescue Service, Non Profit Organization.

Running a non-profit reptile rescue is very different from operating a pet store, breeder, or animal dealer. Our mission is to provide a safe place for reptiles that have been abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or can no longer be cared for by their owners. Every animal that enters our care requires housing, heating, lighting, food, veterinary care, cleaning supplies, and countless hours of volunteer time.
As a non-profit organization, all donations and available funds are directed toward the care and rehabilitation of the reptiles already in our program. Because of these ongoing expenses, we are not financially able to purchase reptiles from individuals seeking to surrender them.
When a rescue purchases animals, it diverts limited resources away from the animals already depending on that rescue for care. Accepting surrendered reptiles is intended to provide a responsible alternative for owners who can no longer keep their pets, not to create a marketplace for animal sales.
We understand that many reptiles have significant monetary value, and owners are welcome to sell their animals privately if they wish to recover some of their investment. However, if you are seeking to surrender a reptile to our rescue, please understand that we cannot buy the animal. Our focus is, and always will be, on providing care, rehabilitation, and responsible placement for reptiles in need.
We appreciate the understanding and support of our community, as every dollar saved helps us provide food, medical care, proper housing, and a second chance for the reptiles entrusted to us.

We've added an Amazon wishlist for anyone who would like to donate to our cause, Thank you so much for wanting to support The Reptile Room. I truly appreciate the kindness and generosity more than you know. Please don’t feel like you need to purchase anything brand-new though — I would never expect that from anyone. Gently used reptile accessories, enclosures, hides, lighting, décor, or supplies are always incredibly helpful and can make a huge difference for the animals we rescue. Your support in any form means the world to us and the reptiles in our care. ❤️ We are a NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION

The Reptile Room is dedicated to the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Relocation of exotic pet reptiles in an attempt to keep them from being released into the wild or dieing. We provide a better option for those who for one reason or another, cannot take care of their reptiles anymore. Many small reptiles, especially ; Leopard Gecko's and Bearded Dragons, get purchased as a pet for a young family member without fully understanding the costs in both material and time needed for proper care of the animal. Sadly all too often these poor creatures suffer from neglect even with the owner's best intentions. We are a limited admittance shelter that restricts intake in order to uphold a standard in quality of life for the surrenders in our care.

Aerial view of the Blue Dragon River in Portugal.

The Blue Dragon River, also known as the Odeleite River, is located in the Algarve region of Portugal. It gained fame for its unique appearance when viewed from above, resembling the shape of a dragon, which led to its nickname. This striking visual effect is due to the river's winding path and the vivid blue color of the water.

The river flows through the Odeleite Dam, which contributes to its scenic beauty and provides a picturesque landscape for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The dam itself serves multiple purposes, including irrigation, water supply, and flood control.

The Blue Dragon River has become a popular tourist attraction, particularly for those interested in natural wonders and photography. Its unique shape and vibrant color make it a captivating sight, drawing visitors to this lesser-known gem in Portugal's Algarve region.
