Back in January, Ms. Johnson from Timothy Christian School approached the zoo about a project that her class was starting, inspired by their fall field trip to our zoo in 2025. All of her students were extremely excited to pick individual animals that they had met in 2025, from kangaroos, to lions to Burmese pythons, and learn more about their physical attributes, habitats and biological roles. Then, in partnership with the zookeepers, the class spend the last 5 months, learning, preparing and presenting their projects.
Yesterday, the class attended the zoo with their grade 6 buddies and set up their display boards at each animal habitat, where they spoke to guests about all the information they have learned on their animals.
The class also hand-made reusable calendars, which they sold to their school community and zoo guests. All of their raised funds were presented to Henny Stallmann, Twin Valley Zoo’s founder and owner, to contribute to continuously enhancing our animal care.
It is moments like these where we can truly recognize the impact that our facility has on education and inspiring young minds. Thank you Ms. Johnson and Timothy Christian School students for showing your support of Twin Valley Zoo and truly delving into your projects and the experience.
