Today we celebrate 35 years of growth and flourishment within the Brantford community, dedication, hard-work and perseverance between a doting couple and their family and an immense passion for animals, nature and education.

Around the park today you will find glimpses of Tony and Henny Stallmann over the years as they build the zoo. Many of the trees, ponds and buildings you see today they planted, dug and built from just a simple home and hayfield, purchased many years ago. What began as a petting farm spent decades transiting into the park that we admire today. A place where families come to make memories, students come to explore wild animals and their ecology; and everyone can connect with nature, discover something new, and develop a deeper appreciation for the incredible animals we share our world with.

At the heart of it all you will find Henny, devoting her time to enjoying the beauty of the park. You may even catch her out on a joy ride around on her golf cart.

“We never go anywhere— no place is more beautiful than our farm. We make time to enjoy the view, talk to our dogs and appreciate everything we have right here at home” - Henny Stallmann, 1998, The Expositor

We are open again!

The improvement in air quality has led to us reopening with regular hours to guests as of today, July 18th 2026.

Please be informed that although there has been some improvement in air quality, constant changing weather conditions may influence our hours of operation daily. We will continue to update should there be changes to hours.

As always, the health of our animals, employees and guests remain at top priority. Please check the weather/ air quality status daily before coming out to the zoo to ensure conditions are right for you and your loved ones.

The air quality may have improved, but level of heat sure hasn’t changed, along with monitoring how the animals are handling the air, we are also working hard to keep them cool. Pictured here is African crested porcupine- Charmin, eating a delicious frozen apple.
