When a Northern dog arrives in our care to find a loving home, it took many hands and thousands of kilometres to get them to that moment. Some arrive ready to explore. Others need extra time and patience before they feel safe enough to settle in.
In many Northern communities, a lack of access to spay/neuter services has led to more adoptable animals than there are families who can give them homes. By working together with communities and partners in the North, we help these animals find homes.
This year alone, we've welcomed close to 400 Northern dogs and cats into our care. Behind every one of those numbers is an animal with their own story, arriving with different experiences and different needs, and we meet them exactly where they are.
