FISHING CLOSURE IN GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK

The following rivers and brooks, including all tributaries and connected ponds, are closed to fishing by order of the Superintendent, Gros Morne National Park of Canada:

1. Deer Arm Brook (Eastern Arm Brook).
2. Deer Arm Pond (Eastern Arm Pond) within 90 meters of the inflow of the feeder and within 90 meters of the outflow of the pond.
3. Ten Mile Pond including all tributaries.
4. Lomond River.
5. East Branch Lomond River.
6. Wigwam Pond within 90 meters of the inflow of East Branch and within 90 meters of the outflow of the pond.

The closure is in force as of one hour after sunset on July 11, 2025. This measure is being implemented to protect Atlantic salmon populations that are at very low levels.

Parks Canada is a recognized leader in conservation and takes actions to preserve national parks and marine conservation areas and contribute to the recovery of species at risk. For up-to-date information on closures and notices, visit http://pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/nl/grosmorne or contact us at 709-458-2417 or [email protected] .

Please note that these fishing closures are in addition to that of Trout River, Trout River Pond and all its tributaries which were closed to fishing on May 15, 2025.

Some guests arriving in Newfoundland for their time said it reminded them of Hawaii without the palm trees, so we added a palm tree to complete the look 😊.

They still got it at 80 and 77. Salmon whisperers, Sterling and Irene 😁
