Although, we've just put a long, snowy winter behind us, and are now enjoying some nice weather, it is time to plan ahead for the fall season and the St. Paul's United Church, Metz, Pumpkinfest!

Once again, Dr. Wright is challenging you to produce a great contender for this year's contest, but you need to start your plants early. Dr. Wright has some seeds and potted seedlings available at the vet clinic. Quantities are limited to first-come, first-serve.

It is that time of year to protect your pets from fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and the diseases they transmit. Dogs are at risk of contracting Lyme disease (Erlichia), Bartonella, Babesia spp., Anaplasma spp, and heartworm from these pests.

Make an appointment or call to arrange pick up of your flea/tick/heartworm medications.

Below is a rabies infosheet prepared by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT). As it mentions, rabies is transmitted through bites, scratches, and mucous membrane or open wound exposure to the saliva of an infected animal. Any mammal can get rabies.
