Finished up a few small mammals for Greg Balch (muskrat, opossum and fox squirrels).

You or your children have probably run into Greg at some point. For 30+ years, Gregory Balch has been presenting educational workshops on local wildlife, ecology, the food web and the Canadian fur trade at schools across Ontario. He presents a large taxidermy collection that students are invited to examine and touch in an effort to learn more about the different animals found in Ontario.

Reminder for all bear hunters

If you are taking your bear to a taxidermist, be sure to skin your bear properly.

Belly cuts are for rugs and wall hangers only. Otherwise it needs to be cut down the back.

If cut incorrectly, you will get a less than perfect mount.

For all my customers waiting for their deer mount, thanks for your patience. I have one more project to complete and then I’ll be starting the deer.

This is an incredibly large elk, which if you’ve seen the size of my shop (aka garage), you’ll know that this will take up the entirety of the shop. It’s going to be quite the job!

This is the coolest colour phase coyote I’ve seen. I’ve had black ones come in but not with such a large white crest on the chest.

The last time posted a black coyote, there was a ton of debate on whether it was a coyote, wolf or hybrid (coywolf).
