Mixed animal practice, Big or Small we treat them all. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Super, a 5yrs old Clyde gelding for a dental appointment. He was a true gentle giant!! Never a dull moment, no 2 days are the same ❤️

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING IN RURAL PRACTICE?
Because of the people that become friends while working together on the same objective: SAVE An ANIMAL!
Here’s a good example: You get the early morning call at -33C and all you hear is:” It’s breech and I need your help “. You arrive and the cow is already caught in the maternity pen and 2 five gallon pails of steaming water are waiting for you. Team work allows for quicker repositioning of breech for safe delivery. The bigger twin with the head back also needed repositioning with a snare as was as active as a good Jack fish. Thank you to the team ( BRONWYN BOUCHER, ERNIE MELNYCHUK and DEBBIE MELNYCHUK on assisting to save 3( 1 cow, 2calves)!!😊
PS The cow and twins are doing well

WHY CHOOSE RURAL MIXED ANIMAL PRACTICE?
Because of the wonderful people you meet and work with. Here is a great example:
It’s-30C and you get a night call to do a prolapse uterus on a down cow and you make the suggestion that 2 helpers would be good. When you arrive you find 7 willing volunteers and 2 fresh pails of warm water 🙌😊.
