It truly means the world to me that I’m still receiving messages and requests to care for your furbabies. 🐾💛

I miss them more than I can even put into words…

Every wag, every cuddle, every quirky little personality—being a part of their lives (and yours) was something so special to me.

As much as I would love to continue caring for them, my current location has made it impossible. Because of that, I’ve had to follow my second passion and begin a new journey in travel. It wasn’t an easy decision, and a piece of my heart will always remain with all of your incredible pets. If you're looking to book a spectacular vacation, I'm your gal...but for those of you looking for trusted, loving care, I wholeheartedly recommend:

❤️UNIQUE REQUEST❤️

Good morning Pawsitive People ☀️

I hope this message finds you all well. It feels a little strange reaching out like this after closing the resort, but the connections (and the pets!) have always meant so much to me—and I’m hoping one of those wonderful connections might be the perfect fit for something a little unique.

Many of you already know Bullet—or at least recognize him. He’s my 9-year-old, 70 lb black lab mix… and despite the name, he is definitely not a Bullet 😄. If anything, he’s earned the nickname Eeyore. Around here, we just call him “B.”

Bullet is incredibly gentle, sweet, and easygoing. He loves a good game of fetch, a walk, and just being around people and other animals. He’s very social—great with dogs, cats, and honestly every human he meets. Everyone falls in love with him.

He does have Addison’s disease, which was discovered a few years ago during pre-op bloodwork. The good news is it’s completely managed—he’s never had an episode. He simply takes his meds with meals at 7:30am and 7:30pm daily (pills in his food), and that routine keeps him perfectly stable. (His meds/meal times can be changed to match your schedule, but would need to be consistent 12 hrs apart)

He also has some hip issues (he’s had them since we adopted him at 3), so he’s not a high-energy dog. He doesn’t jump, takes stairs slowly, and knows his limits. If he ever gets a little sore (you’ll notice a slight hunch), I give him gabapentin and he’s usually back to himself the next day.

One important note—he has excellent recall off leash in safe areas, but he is not road smart, so he must always be on leash near roads.

💛 My Situation

I’m looking for someone experienced with dogs who would be open to caring for Bullet for approximately 3 months (mid-December 2026 to mid/end of March 2027).

I know this is a big ask, and I don’t take that lightly.

In exchange, I would absolutely love to care for your dog at any time throughout the rest of the year—whether it’s for vacations, weekends away, or extended stays.

This would truly be a mutual pet care exchange built on trust and love for animals.

I will fully cover all of Bullet’s expenses—food, medications, vet care, and even additional pet sitting if needed during that time (his regular sitter, Lana the Animal Nanny, is always available if support is ever required).

✈️ Why I’m Not Bringing Him With Me

I’ve thought long and hard about this, and it comes down to two things:

1. The stress of flying could trigger an Addison’s episode, which could be life-threatening.

2. Travel vaccine requirements don’t accept titre testing, and I’m not comfortable over-vaccinating him given his condition.

🐾 What Would Be the Right Fit

If we’re doing an exchange, your pup would need to:

Be great with cats and other dogs

Have a calm, easygoing temperament

Be comfortable in a more relaxed, outdoor lifestyle (we live in our trailer from May–October)

(We are right on the lake, so if your pup loves to swim and is great off leash as well, they will be able to swim daily and go for boat rides on my pontoon boat, and we have lots of other great pups in our park too that they will socialize with plus daily walks :))

Be friendly and people-loving

Of course, you would cover your dog’s care costs, just as I would for Bullet.

🤝 Next Steps

A meet & greet, along with trial days/nights, would absolutely be a must—for everyone’s comfort and to make sure it’s the right fit on both sides.

⚠️⚠️TICK SEASON IS HERE⚠️⚠️

I keep forgetting to share this with everyone who has asked me about Tickless!!

Its the safest and easiest way to deter ticks.

NO CHEMICALS OR SIDE EFFECTS.

Works for 6 months!!

Only downside is your pup can't swim with it while wearing it.

You can order online and you'll get it in 2 days depending on where you live through Chewy or Ren's Pets (I think).

After investigating I realize our tribute to Miss Blue didn't post back in November.

Blue passed away in November last year, she was the sweetest, most gentlest giant. ❤️

Blue always took to our puppies, showing them how to dog, she loved soaking up the sun and as she aged she preferred lounging on the cough over anything else.

You are definitely missed Miss Blue.

RIP baby girl.

I rec'd heartbreaking news earlier today that our sweet Tuk passed away.

Since his first paw in the resort Tuk has warmed all our hearts, we have so many precious memories with this boy.

Chances are, if you pup has attended Pet Pawsitive, they were friends with Tuk 💙

I just rec'd heart breaking news that Prancer, a very special pup that I use to care for way back when I was mobile has sadly passed away.

Prancer was very unique, in that she would only accept certain humans in her circle and I was very fortunate to be one of them.

Prancer was 14 yrs old when she passed, her family gave her the BEST life she could ever ask for, they catered to her uniqueness and loved her unconditionally.

It means the world to me Donna Williamson Power that you reached out to me, knowing Prancer always had a special place in my heart ❤️
