The takhi, Mongolian for “spirit”, are a rare and endangered subspecies of wild horse native to the steppes of central Asia. They are the last remaining breed of truly wild horse and are an important part of Mongolian culture and a symbol of their national heritage. The best part of an AEI volunteer trip? Hard to say, but all the amazing volunteers you will meet is definitely up there. Nothing really compares to getting to geek out over cute animals with other people just as exited to be there as you are. Over your week trip you will make lifelong connections with your fellow volunteers that can last a lifetime.

Swimming with animals in tanks or marinas that they are trapped in, is inherently cruel and unnecessary. Wild animals do not want to swim with you. We know this because if they had the chance to leave their prison, they would.

No swimming with wildlife is ethical or acceptable. We're sorry you were lied to before.
