It’s been brought to our attention that a few people have been vocal on some community pages, we thought we address the situation on our page.
We understand the frustration that can come with seeking care for your animals—whether that’s a pet in need of same-day attention or a calving emergency hours from help. Please know that our veterinarians and clinic staff work incredibly hard every day to accommodate as many clients as possible, and it is never our goal to turn anyone away.
Unfortunately, the reality in rural veterinary care today is that there simply aren’t enough veterinarians available to meet the growing demand. Many clients in our region are having to haul animals two to three hours for emergencies, and we recognize how difficult and stressful that is. We’re doing everything we can to avoid that happening to our clients by offering same-day appointments when possible and being as flexible as we can with scheduling.
Same-day fees may be higher, and we’re always upfront about those costs so you can choose what’s right for you. These fees help compensate our incredible team members who often stay late, skip breaks, and work overtime to make sure your animal receives the care they need. Just yesterday, four of our team members stayed after hours to help with a same-day case. Time we set aside on purpose because we care about our clients and their animals.
We encourage anyone comparing prices to take a look at the fees charged by emergency clinics in the city. These clinics are amazing and we are so thankful that are available to you and our referrals. We aim to be as transparent as possible and offer a level of care that reflects the compassion and dedication of our team right here, in your community.
We’ve seen some other great clinics mentioned in this thread, and we couldn’t agree more—they’re amazing! We’re grateful to have close working relationships with other local and regional clinics, and we know firsthand they face many of the same challenges we do. Supporting each other in this profession is essential.
It’s also important to us that your visit feels comfortable and informed. If you would like to be present with your pet during an exam, we are more than happy to accommodate when we can. With only two exam rooms, we often prioritize them for client education, euthanasias, and immunocompromised patients, but we always try to make space when it’s possible.
We truly love our community. We support local businesses, we live here, and we raise our families here too. That’s why it’s especially disheartening when concerns are aired on social media before we’ve had a chance to address them directly. If you ever have a concern or feel unsatisfied with your experience, please come to us first. We care deeply about our clients and want the opportunity to make it right.
Lastly, we would love nothing more than to expand our team to help meet your needs but attracting new veterinarians to small-town, mixed practice work is a challenge the entire industry is facing right now. We’re doing our best with the team we have, and we’re grateful every day for your support, patience, and understanding.
