Have you heard of telescopefish? These nightmarish animals live in deep, cold parts of the ocean, and have some amazing adaptations to their harsh environments:

▪️ Tubular, large-lensed eyes, letting them spot their prey from a distance in the pitch black ocean depths
▪️️ Extensile jaws and distensible stomachs, allowing them to swallow any size prey they find (up to two times larger than themselves!)
