Thankful for this beautiful weather we are getting. I can't believe it's almost half way through October already! Lessons will continue as long as the snow holds off, so fingers crossed this weather continues for a while longer!

Meet the lesson horses!

This is Boomer. He is a 6 year old, American Paint Horse, gelding. He is a big puppy dog who LOVES attention. Boomer's specialty is going slow and easy in western pleasure, but he also looks smart in English tack. He was Manitoba Superhorse Champion of 2019, and had a promising show career until the pandemic re-routed his career. Now he is enjoying getting to explore new things and new people on the farm!

Meet the lesson horses!

This is Wyatt. He is a 22 year old, American Paint Horse, gelding. Wyatt was born on my parent's ranch and has been with me on and off for his whole life. He is my jack of all trades horse, having an extensive APHA show career, and dabbling in barrels, roping, and jumping. At this stage of his career, he loves to take it easy, giving rides to kids and getting lots of treats and pats.

Hello everyone! Looks like I have some new followers here, so let me reintroduce myself.

My name is Jessica, I live just 2 miles from Arborg, Manitoba, and I offer private riding lessons to beginners in the Interlake.

I am an experienced horse woman who comes from a long family line of horsemen and women. I grew up in Roblin, Manitoba, on the Rafter P Ranch, where I learned how to ride and later train horses from my parents.

As a youth, I competed in local horse shows, APHA breed shows, barrel racing jackpots, and participated in many clinics to hone my skills in a variety of disciplines.

As an adult, I have been able to explore even more, taking on training horses, coaching students, grooming for a top grand prix dressage rider, grooming at the Assiniboia Downs for a top trainer, and competing in cross country jumping events with Manitoba Horse Trials.

I pride myself on being a jack of all trades in the horse industry and love to explore new ways to learn and grow with my horses. I enjoy taking the knowledge I have accumulated and molding it into my own style of teaching both horse and rider.

What a fun day we had yesterday at the Arborg Horse Show. I am very proud of my boys. We placed in all of our classes. Boomer won 1st in both Western pleasure and horsemanship. Wyatt placed 2nd in ranch riding. Organizers and volunteers did a wonderful job with the show, and I look forward to next year's competition!
