⚠Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) Warning⚠

Due to the extreme temperatures, blue-green algae is appearing. It is highly toxic to dogs, causing severe illness and can be fatal. Exposure occurs when dogs drink or swim in contaminated water, or ingest algae from their fur while grooming. Symptoms can appear rapidly and may include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, seizures, and difficulty breathing. Seek veterinary care immediately if you suspect your dog has been exposed.

 Rosie came to visit for the first time and her owner drove all the way from Halliburton to come and see me. Rosie needed some TLC as she’s had a rough past with abuse before her wonderful owner got hands on her and gave her her furever home.  What an absolute sweetheart and doll she was but she did struggle with one issue during grooming. Passive resistance. 🙅🏻‍♀️ She wouldn’t move. Like at all. 🤣This presented its own challenges because of her size and she probably weighed more than I did. This lovely girl decided to be a lump and was just delightfully uncooperative to budge with zero aggression whatsoever. She told me with a smile if I wanted to do something I was going to have to figure out a way to do it. You got it baby girl. She spent practically the entire groom in the tub and so did I because I resorted to climbing in it with her! I needed to make sure that I could get all of her angles to blow dry her properly so she wasn’t left damp which would put her at risk of developing hotspots. She was loads of fun and I thank her and her owner for trusting me to work with her. I’m sure my chiropractor thanks us all too 🤣

Today wraps up grooming for Christmas.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my wonderful canine and human clients. I am so honored to get to work with you all. It’s no surprise your fur babies steal my heart but even after 20 years grooming I am blown away at how my human clients show up for me and support me in ways I never imagined.
