Even though this mount was just mounted and still needs a lot of work. I just wanted to share. This deer died of natural causes and was found floating in a lake on Cape Breton. The velvet stayed in good condition, however the hide was unsalvageable. It took awhile to find a new shorthaired cape that would match this rack. It all came together in the long run and I’m happy with how he is turning out. This deer will be on display at the DNR office in Coxheath. It’s mounts like this that challenge me and keep me wanting to preserve the majestic whitetail!!!
