With the beginning of a new season comes the beginning of a new era for the grooming industry in Alliston.
13 years ago I was the most fortunate person to meet Janice Preiss, the queen of grooming. She took me on and showed me the way. Those years were filling with Joy, laughter, Love, sweat, fur, lots and lots of fur. It was everywhere. In my eyes, mouth, hair, in my coffee, in my lunch, in my bra. Then you get hair splinters in your hands, under my feet, yes under my feet. Has anyone ever saw me walking bare feet?
Janice's teaching is what made grooming my new passion. She taught me how to connect with the dogs and knows what they need that day under our care. She taught how me to listen to their needs and to always use Love and compassion as our primary approach, and the haircut will come into place. She taught me to always take time to give the extra care for the well being of the animal.
With that teaching, I was extremely fortunate to gain your trust and allowed me to pursue my new passion. Dog grooming involves more then a bath and hair cut. It is learning how to connect with their energy on a deeper level. It's putting our ego aside to assist them with what they are saying between the lines. Its not what our eyes are seeing but what our heart is telling us, to follow your instinct. 99% of the time it is right. The other 1% of the time, we call that drama queen syndrome 😉
Every single dog that came into my care taught me something and made me a better person. Every animal is unique and I thank every single one of them for evolving me and making me who I am today.
To all the moms and dads, I can definitely say that I had the best customers any business can dream of. Your generosity, friendliness understanding, commitment and care has made my time at Scrubadub Doggies that much more wonderful. I enjoyed knowing everyone of you and I thank you for all your appreciation you have showed me, from Miss Hood's delicious brownies, Miss Walker's baked goods, Mr and Miss Duller's Christmas wine, Lilly Hale's flowers to brighten our day, the countless gift certificates and monetary gifts are always truly appreciated. But, most of all it was your smiles and joy in your eyes as soon as you see your dog all cleaned up that made my effort worth while.
Today, as I move forward to new adventure, the baton is passed to this young woman, with a definitely younger back then mine, Jacklyn. She is taking on the legacy of Janice Preiss. With her head high and a heart full of Love, she will be taking it to new level.
I wish you all happiness, health and a blissful life. May our path maybe cross again. Live for today, because tomorrow is uncertain.
With Love Karine
