Did you know the first groom in a puppy’s life can set the tone for all future grooms? If the pup has a bad experience or becomes too stressed, they will associate negative energy with the grooming process on the next groom. It can become an uphill battle for a new groomer to work through those emotions.
My process is to start them off very slowly. They take as many play sessions as they need. When the “chore” is fun, there is no room for negativity to be associated with that event. We play, we work, we play some more. Before you know it, they are fully groomed and had no idea on that stress for those nails to be clipped, coat to be brushed out, etc. Grooming becomes a normal event in their life, which maintains a healthy fur-baby for you!

Oliver met me for the first time today. And I think we can agreed, he had a blast! Funny little guy with a big boy voice(only when the ball got away). This is the best way to let puppies learn. Oliver rated his grooming, 12 cookies out of 10🐾
